The city government hosts the third Taoyuan Documentary Festival (TYDF). Through filming documentaries, the stories here will be recounted. The documentaries, with the various viewpoints, are meant to observe Taoyuan, taking a look at the bond between the community and the land, the dialogue between the city and the environment. They will inspire people to ponder from different aspects. Department of Cultural Affairs, Taoyuan City Government, held the documentary competition and the participants of the selected entries would further take part in the seminars and workshop. The directors and producers were invited to be their mentors, companying them and guiding them through the filming and production. The sharing of ideas and dialectical dialogues sparkles, making the film production take root in Taoyuan. To ignite the spark for the productions of Taoyuan and of the world, this year, the director of YAMAGATA International Documentary Film Festival (YIDFF), Asako Fujioka, was invited to share the accomplishment of YIDFF. With annual TYDF and documentary competition, the images of Taoyuan will be preserved. It is hoped that more and more people will get involved, making Taoyuan a city of documentary and culture.
