Action Notes Karl the Woodcutter, Ava, and JBear ran out
of the woods.
None
Dialog “Is that the Pig’s straw house?” Ava asked. Action
Notes As Karl led them to town, they passed a straw house. It looked like it had been blown down by a strong wind.
Dialog “That’s the one,” said Karl. “Little Brother Wolf blew
it down a long time ago.”
Dialog “The house is made of sticks!” Ava said. Action
Notes A moment later, they passed a stick house. It too looked like it had been blown apart by a strong wind.
Dialog “The Pigs didn’t think any wolf could blow that
down,” Karl said. “To tell you the truth, neither did I. But he did, and all it took was one big huff.”
Action Notes Finally they came to a beautiful house made
out of brick—at least, it would have been beautiful if not for Little Brother Wolf huffing and puffing and clawing at the door!
Dialog “Wait here!” Karl said to Ava and J Bear.
Action Notes He held the big axe in both hands
and ran toward the house.
Dialog “Stop!” he shouted at the wolf. “You’re under arrest
for causing a disturbance!”
Dialog “Is that all?” growled Little Brother Wolf. “What about
destroying public property?”
Dialog “Hey!” Karl said. “Don’t tell me my job!"
Dialog "But yes, that too. You’re going to jail until
we can have a trial.”
Dialog Little Brother Wolf sneered. “You’ll have to catch me
first!” And with a howl of laughter, he raced off toward the woods.
Dialog “Stop!” Karl shouted.
Action Notes Ava watched until they both disappeared into the
forest. She heard a last, distant howl, but she couldn’t tell if the wolf was laughing or crying.
Dialog “Come on,” she said to JBear. “Let’s see if
the Pigs are OK.”
Action Notes As they approached the beautiful brick house, Ava
saw how much damage the wolf had done.
Action Notes The door was badly scratched and the little
stained glass windows were broken. Notes Camera slowly moves up to look at the scratches.
None
Action Notes The door opened and the Three Little Pigs
leaned out.
Dialog “Is he gone?” said the first.
Dialog “Where’d he go?” said the second.
Dialog “Into the woods,” said the third.
Action Notes Ava laughed. They talked so funny, one right
after the other!
Action Notes But before she could introduce herself, she heard
a scratching sound.
Action Notes Ava looked up and saw Big Brother Wolf
crouching on the roof with a burlap sack in his paws.
Dialog The Three Pigs shouted, “Watch out!"
Dialog "Back up!"
Dialog "Too late!”
Action Notes The wolf leapt down and caught Ava in
the big sack.
Action Notes But as he tried to tie it shut,
JBear jumped onto his back,
None
Dialog “Pull left!" Action Notes and the Three Pigs grabbed
his tail and his legs.
Dialog "Pull right!"
Dialog "Pull anywhere!” they cried.
Dialog “Let go!” growled the wolf. Action Notes The wolf
drops the sack.
Action Notes Ava crawls out of the bag.
Action Notes The wolf leapt into the air, kicking his
paws and snapping his teeth. JBear and the Three Pigs fell off and rolled on the ground.
Dialog “Run! Run! Run!” shouted the Three Pigs. Action Notes
The Three Pigs ran inside, followed by JBear and Ava.
None
Action Notes Just as Ava passed through the door, Big
Brother Wolf reached out with his long paw and—slash—tore Ava’s coat.
Action Notes The Three Pigs slammed the door in his
face.
Dialog “No!” Big Brother Wolf howled. “I was so close!”
Action Notes He clawed and kicked at the door.
None
Action Notes He pushed his long jaws through the small
broken windows. But Ava was safe inside.
None
Action Notes Big Brother Wolf looked around. He knew he
didn’t have much time. That Woodcutter would be back, and he’d probably bring help. But he can’t go back to him empty-handed. Back to that fire and that hut and that voice? He has to do something!
Action Notes What if I climb down the chimney? he
thought. Maybe they won’t expect that because that’s what my brother did. Maybe I’ll catch them by surprise.
Action Notes He pretended to howl in defeat, then ran
toward the woods.
None
Action Notes But once he was out of sight of
the windows, he stopped and crept back to the brick house.
