    Knowing your HIV status will not only help you protect your health. It also allows you to take care of your partner and children. If you are negative, you can avoid risky sex in future. Getting tested together with your partner can be a rst step to a relationship where you only have sex with each other and are safe from HIV.    HIV testing is widely available at New Start Centres and public health facilities. At most sites, you can get your results in less than an hour. At all facilities, great care is taken that only you are informed about your results, keeping your status con dential. At New Start Centres, HIV testing is free – all year, every day.
