The characters that you have just learned are all “radicals”
Radicals are simple characters that contain a single picture or idea
There are about 200 radicals used in Chinese: You have
already learned a quarter of them!
EVERY other Chinese character is made up by combining these
200 radicals together.
In the next level, you will first learn a few
more radicals Then you will look at how these radicals are combined to form some combination characters.
As before, some of these combinations make perfect sense, while
others may seem a bit... abstract
Just look at the really abstract ones as being an
excuse to let your imagination run wild!
