  2. 1st Elevator Pitch Make  Up  Me  are  a  London-­‐based  beauty,

     hair  and  make  up  team,  with  experCse  in   all  areas  of  innovaCve  beauty,  fashion  and  photographic  design.  Make  Up  Me   currently  needs  a  face  liD,  a  new  design  and  a  new  interacCve  and  personal  feel   including  social  media  and  SEO.   My  aim  would  be  to  redesign  the  site  and  the  brand,  expand  the  business  and   change  its  direcCon  and  give  it  more  of  an  online  presence  in  all  aspects.  I  would   like  to  give  clients  and  internet  browsers  more  reason  to  return  to  the  site  or  stay   on  it  longer,  other  than  to  look  at  the  work  and  prices.  I  would  like  to  add  reviews   and  social  media  like  pinterest  and  facebook  which  will  allow  them  to  look  at  new   things  each  week  and  interact  within  a  community,  jobs  for  arCsts  and  news.      enhance  their  appearance.  Every  day  they  are  used  to  cover   imperfecCons,  enhance  or  change  features,  to  make  people  look  and  feel  beKer,  for  vanity,  media  and  medical  reasons.  There   will  always  be  a  demand  for  cosmeCcs  as  although  they  are  not  a  necessity,  image  is  everything.   When  it  comes  to  a  woman's  beauty,  it  seems  that  the  classic  English  rose  is  now  not  quite  as  natural  as  she  once  was.  With   ever  more  women  turning  to  their  trusty  make-­‐up  bag,  latest  research  from  MINTEL  finds  the  value  of  the  BriCsh  cosmeCcs   market  blossoming.  While  consumers  have  no  control  over  what  happens  with  naConal  economics,  they  can  control  their   personal  appearance  and  it  seems  that  today,  this  is  exactly  what  they  are  doing.  Indeed,  according  to  latest  research  from   Mintel  in  to  colour  cosmeCcs,  make-­‐up  displays  just  how  recession-­‐proof  the  sector  is,  with  UK  retail  sales  of  colour  cosmeCcs   puSng  on  a  good  performance  in  2011,  with  market  value  up  by  over  8%  from  2010  (when  the  market  was  valued  at  £1.28   billion)  shoring  up  sales  of  a  stunning  £1.38  billion.When  it  comes  to  individual  spending  on  make-­‐up,  BriCsh  women  well   outpace  their  female  companions  in  the  other  three  countries.   Not  everyone  knows  how  to  use  cosmeCcs  or  has  the  confidence  to  use  them.  Some  people  will  just  use  them  for  special   occasions  or  events.  They  will  always  be  used  in  media,  adverCsing  and  promoCon.  Department  stores,  You  Tube  and  print   magazines  all  assist  and  aid  women  on  how  to  do  their  make  up  and  hair.  Hairdressers  and  beauty  salons  offer  services  that   the  client  can  go  to  for  their  hair  and  make  up.  There  are  mobile  beauCcians  and  make  up  arCsts  that  also  offer  services  of  a   similar  nature  for  both  real  people  and  businesses.  Magazines  and  print  media  also  discuss  reviews  of  products  but  are   generally  done  by  professionals. In  redesigning  my  website  I  will  give  my  business  more  of  an  online  presence  as  well  as  allow  clients  to  see  previous  work.   Currently  a  lot  of  my  work  comes  from  word  of  mouth  as  my  current  site  is  not  very  acCve.  Adding  more  social  media  and   reviews  will  encourage  more  repeat  traffic  to  my  webpage  as  the  user  can  be  more  interacCve.  The  client  can  come  to  the  site   to  view  work,  to  find  services  and  price  and  further  contact  details.  The  client  can  also  see  details  of  what  the  business  has   been  up  to  via  the  news  feed/blog  and  can  interact  and  comment.  If  the  client  would  like  any  advice  on  product  or  service  the   client  can  enter  a  forum  and  talk  to  others  with  similar  quesCons  or  search  more  informaCon  on  a  product  or  service  they   would  like  to  find  out  more  about  following  other  clients  personal  reviews  and  recommendaCons.  The  client  can  also  share   this  informaCon  publicly  or  if  they  have  an  account  can  store  the  informaCon  privately  as  well  as  informaCon  about  the   services  they  use  from  us,  personal  reviews  and  shared  images.  Product  recommendaCons  and  reviews  can  later  on  be  used   for  affiliate  markeCng.      is  crowed  and  compeCCve,  populated  with  thousand  of   independent  beauty  salons  and  mobile  therapists  the  number  of  designer  salons  is  increasing,  with  large   companies  such  as  Elizabeth  Arden  and  Clarins  providing  treatments  in  a  variety  of  venues,  including   department  stores.  AddiConally,  hundreds  of  leisure  service  providers,  such  as  hotels,  spars  and  health  clubs   offer  beauty  services  to  their  customers.  This  industry  is  populated  by  thousands  of  unqualified  and  under-­‐ qualified  operators  providing  treatments  informally  to  friends  and  family.  It  is  impossible  to  quanCfy  this   compeCCon,  but  you  can  combat  it  by  ensuring  you  provide  a  highly  professional  service  adhering  to  health  and   safety  legislaCon  and  relevant  industry  codes  of  conduct.      be  to  provide  services  for  hair  and  make  up  for  any  ocassion.   News,  reviews  and  product  recommendaCon.  The  interacCve  and  social  media  element  of  my  site  does  not   involve  creaCng  a  revenue  stream.  It  will  either  be  a  secCon  where  clients  can  interacCve  with  each  other  and   share  reviews  on  product  and  service  privately  or  publicly.  Or  it  will  be  an  area  where  people  can  get  involved  in   raising  awareness,  supporCng  and  campaigning  for  those  who  would  benefit  from  hair  and  make  up  due  to   illness  or  unforeseen  circumstances. • Commodity  -­‐  The  benefits  of  a  user  using  my  website  would  be  to  find  a  hair  or  make  up  arCst  for  their  needs,   be  it  personal,  for  business  purposes  or  for  a  project  such  as  a  show  or  adverCsement.  The  content  will  be   informaCve  and  useful  in  helping  with  what  the  client  is  searching  for.  The  funcConality  and  user  experience  will   be  to  be  able  to  browse  and  look  at  a  galley  specific  to  their  request  or  read  up  on  further  informaCon. • Firmness  -­‐  The  technology  behind  my  website  will  be  an  effecCve  content  management  system,  good  coding  in   HTML,  CSS  and  further  coding,  also  including  stylesheets  for  print.  Following  web  standard  procedures  and   correct  semanCc  mark  up.   • Delight  -­‐  These  consideraCons  relate  to  the  aestheCc  design  of  the  site:  colour,  line,  font,  paKern,  symbolism,   associaCons  etc.  My  design  will  be  clear  and  concise,  simplisCc  and  relevant  to  its  content.  I  would  like  to  use   typography  and  grids  and  elements  from  print  design  as  inspiraCon  to  make  my  content  readable,  useable  and   asceCcally  pleasing.
