The Peter Moss Acute Myeloid /Lymphoblastic Leukemia AI Research Project_Estela Cabezas_Codemotion Madrid 2019

This project is being coordinated by a group of volunteers with experience in computer vision / natural language processing, Leukemia research, Biochemistry, Molecular Biophysics, Immunology and Bioinformation. The purpose of the project is to share public information related to AML/ALL, as well as open source projects aimed at early dectection with convolutional neural networks, using natural language understanding for AML/ALL chatbots, and R&D for discovering potential candidates for drugs for AML/ALL.

About:
Estela Cabezas, Innovator, Intel

Estela Cabezas recently received her BSc in Biotechnology. After some years of experience in laboratories Estela realized how important it is to have a good IT background to follow up with the latest research updates in the biological sector. Estela was introduced to the project by Adam in early 2019 to get assistance from the team for her thesis. Since then Estela has volunteered her time to two, coming up to 3 events representing the project, and coming up to her second time representing the project as an Intel Software Innovator.

  1. Peter Moss Acute Myeloid & Lymphoblastic Leukemia AI Research Project

Peter Edward Moss 5th Aug 1939 - 24th Aug 2019 In loving memory of Peter Edward Moss who bravely battled Acute Myeloid Leukemia for 1 day short of a year. A loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who will never be forgotten. A month after an all clear blood test Peter collapsed. After further tests Peter was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Doctors diagnosed him with roughly two weeks left of life. One of Peter’s grandsons, Adam, found it hard to find open computer vision datasets for Acute Myeloid Leukemia. In addition Peter’s family found very little useful information available online, or from their doctors, to understand how to live with AML. Adaptation of previous Invasive Ductal Carcinoma CNN to develop an AI detection method for Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. AML datasets remain a roadblocker for the AML side of the project. Through Artificial Intelligence & Deep Learning (AIDL) Facebook group Adam got the attention of Ho Leung Ng, Kansas State University Dept. of Biochemistry & Molecular Biophysics. Ho offered to assist Adam with the project and provided information / public ALL datasets and research papers. The project went on to attract volunteer developers and medical experts from all over the globe and now has an AI Student Program. Peter Moss sadly passed away after a year long fight with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. The Peter Moss Acute Myeloid & Lymphoblastic AI Research Project will continue in Peter’s memory with hopes of helping the fight against cancer.

OPEN Information /AmlResearchProject The Peter Moss Acute Myeloid/Lymphoblastic Leukemia Project Research Archives is a repository dedicated to sharing the public information, papers, code and datasets that we come across through R&D, as well as publishing our own research. The archives are made up of individual archives related to a particular topic. Related Centers Related Drugs Related Code Related Datasets
  5. AML & ALL Classifiers The Peter Moss Acute Myeloid/Lymphoblastic Leukemia

Classifiers are a collection of projects that use computer vision to classify Acute Myeloid/Lymphoblastic Leukemia in unseen images. The projects include classifiers made with Tensorflow, Caffe, FastAI, Intel Movidius (NCS & NCS2), OpenVino and Python/Java/C++/R classifiers.
