It was a slightly damp start to our show season but it was absolutely worth it as MHC Dressage had a fantastic day and earned 1st PLACE with 17 points!
In First Level, I started out the day with a solid test, focusing on keeping my eyes and drilled into those letters for the 15 meter circles. I had a lovely time on Keebler and placed 4th! Our next rider in First was Quinn who made her IDA debut today!! Quinn rode Joy and worked to get her more longitudinally supple, earning an 8th place in her first show!
In Upper Training, Madigan came out swinging on Stanford in her first show as an Upper rider! She rode a super accurate test while helping Stanford to become more correct and straight. She knocked it out of the park getting 1st PLACE and receiving the high point award for the day!!
In Lower Training, Abby started off the season with a soft and very correct ride on Elliot. Managing her way through the sloppy conditions to a 5th place finish!
In Intro, Toni pulled several magnificent feats today! She started out the day expecting to ride the usually reliable Pablo. The plan came apart after their lovely warm up when Pablo entered the show ring and lost thinking power, spooking, taking off, and throwing a massive buck! Toni managed to sit this buck and gracefully dismounted. Unfazed she pulled out a fantastic ride on the alternate Lyra and earned 1st PLACE as well as the sticky seat award!!
The day was not over yet and our two DSE riders were ready to rock in the sandbox!
In First Level DSE Lila had an incredible ride on the soft and expressive Quinn, who might now be a team favorite. She was grinning from ear to ear through the whole class and earned 2nd place!
In Upper DSE Clea also had her IDA debut! She piloted the lovely Griffin, doing a great job to show off both him and her position. In a very successful debut, she finished 5th and closed out the show today!
