I am pleased to report that the MHC Dressage Team finished 1ST PLACE yesterday at UNH with 15 points!!
The team had our first overnight show trip and woke up fresh and ready to rumble after a few extra hours of sleep!!
Lila and I started off the show at First Level and we both had the privilege of riding the wonderful Medea who was so pleasant to ride. She tended to get a bit tense when entering the show ride so Lila and I had to work extra hard to keep the relaxation and swing. Lila rode her first and I was second, earning 6th and 7th respectively.
Madigan and Clea were up next in Upper on the compact and adorable Dawson! Clea was up first and helped to get Dawson used to the dressage ring and piloted him around for a lovely test, earning a 9th place finish! Madigan was up next and rode Dawson like the little dressage pony that he never knew he was!! They had an absolutely beautiful test and took a 1st place finish with a 71.897%!!!
After lunch it was time to start Lower Training and it sure did start off with a bang as Abby's boot zipper broke as she was getting ready! But thanks to some black tape we were back on track and ready to go! She rode the lovely Ticco and had a super test and managed to expertly conceal a spook and go on to take 1st place with a 71.00%!!!
The day finished off with Toni in Intro who rode Cosmo. They had a very successful warm up despite Cosmo throwing a buck as seems to be Toni's luck this semester!! Toni worked to get him bending and put in a solid test with good geometry to earn a 7th place finish!
