  1. The International Society for Technology in Education began nearly 40

years ago with a dream to turn "What if...?", into what is now one of the largest professional educator's organizations in the world. ISTE: WHAT IS IT?
  2. The work at ISTE is "supported by three pillars: A

community of passionate educators; knowledge and thought leadership; and standards that guide the innovative and effective use of technology" (ISTE, 2020). ISTE PILLARS OF SUPPORT
  3. The ISTE Educator Community is a place where you can

ask questions, collaborate with peers, look for advice or best use practices, and find helpful resources to use in your classroom in an environment that is friendly, safe, and helpful (ISTE, 2021). To check out the ISTE Community Commons, click HERE. COMMUNITY A NETWORK OF EDUCATORS
  4. ISTE "provide[s] a conduit to knowledge through award-winning journalism and

research from EdSurge; professional development and certifications based on the ISTE Standards; and books, journals, webinars, podcasts, and blog posts informed and created by experts and researchers in the education field" (ISTE, 2020). 5. ISTE has developed a set of standards that can be

used to help integrate technology into the classroom. There are different standards for students, educators, education leaders, and coaches. "This framework for innovation in education is designed to give students the skills they need to contribute to a global, interconnected, and changing society" (ISTE, 2020). For more information about or to print the ISTE Standards, click HERE. STANDARDS INNOVATIVE & EFFECTIVE USES OF TECHNOLOGY
  6. - DR. JENNIFER SERVISS, AUTHOR AND EDUCATOR "THE MORE MINDS

THAT COME TOGETHER FROM DIFFERENT BACKGROUNDS, THE MORE LIKELY YOU ARE TO ADD VALUE AND PURPOSE TO THE FIELD OF EDUCATION."
  7. Educators have the unique role of providing instruction to a

classroom of diverse learners - whether in-person or virtually. ISTE can give teachers the tools needed to provide the flexibility in learning that is necessary to make sure all students are prepared to face an ever-changing digital world. DIVERSIFYING LEARNING HOW TO MEET THE NEEDS OF ALL LEARNERS
  8. The ISTE Standards for Students are designed to "empower students

to take ownership of their learning as they build global competencies and develop deep thinking, collaboration, and communication skills" (Perez & Grant, 2020). ISTE STANDARDS FOR STUDENTS EMPOWERED FOR THE FUTURE
  9. INTERACTIVE CONTENT Many of the sessions at ISTE20 Live included

links to interactive content that educators could access while attending the webinar.
