imaginable scale destroyed the world. The apocalypse happened due Humanity’s technology failed them, malfunctioning and it ceased to function normally the moment the first second of the year 2000 struck. Most of the world becomes uninhabitable due to an intense nuclear winter covering the globe. Acid rain had descended down, causing most farmland to be unusable and water supplies being poisoned. More than 95% of humanity has been wiped additionally, with another 70% slowly dying out due to being unable to survive in the harsh post-apocalyptic conditions Around 2010, a group of 7000 people in Lithuania, called the Busted, had survived the apocalypse via a bunker that came out of hiding. The group is diverse as many people fled countries which had many nuclear weapons, for example prominently Russia and the UK. The Busted had come out of hiding and started to uncover debris and artefacts left from the Old World. A while after, the Busted found an old computer program. It held data on everything that could ever and have been made by humanity; essentially it held the knowledge of everything. This happened due to the computer program being left turned on during the apocalypse, the apocalypse gave the computer so much computing power that it could calculate and learn billions of things within a matter of seconds. The Busted, discovering this technology, decided to try to build a rudimentary robot to hold all this data and help them re-establish a new world. After a few months of trial and error, they eventually built the robot and it came to life. The robot had given himself the name Petrikov, after the creator of the program who had died in the apocalypse, Petrikov harboured deep hatred for humanity due to this, believing that humanity was at complete fault for the apocalypse due to their technology, and that if humanity hadn’t been so naive with their technology, the apocalypse would not have happened. In order to enact revenge upon humanity, yet also give them another chance with new technology from his knowledge, he ordered that 50 humans be sacrificed a year. In return, he will give humanity the knowledge within him to create a new prosperous world. Reluctantly, the Busted agreed. In just 10 years, technology had sky-rocketed, with the Busted now being cybernetically enhanced, living in a prosperous city, yet the yearly sacrifices still occurred. Around this time, a new group of 3000 people called Nirvana had finally left their bunker. Nirvana were the exact opposite of the Busted. They were terrified of technology and had decided to go back 100 years in technological development to avoid such a catastrophic apocalypse happening again. Nirvana resorted to living without technology and had peacefully lived for a few short months. One day while the Busted were on patrol, they had found Nirvana and their small village, upon discovering that human life still exists elsewhere, the Busted immediately contacted Nirvana, asking if they would like to join their technologically advanced civilization. Nirvana, insulted by how cruel they are for once again adopting technology, despite knowing what happened due to technology, berated the Busted and criticised them. The Busted, feeling insulted and enraged, have decided to now commit their yearly sacrifices onto Nirvana. Sending a “Hunter” every year, tasked to take 50 peoples lives. After a few years of this, it is now 2035, the Hunter named “Pandora” has been assigned as a Hunter. At this point, the Busted had lost all their remaining humanity due to their increased cybergenetics, suppressing emotions of fear and sympathy, as they were deemed to be a liability and a hindrance for the future of the Busted. Pandora sets off to exterminate 50 people from Nirvana, but as she is about to kill a young child, she miraculously feels sympathetic for the cowering child and stops her slaughter. Reporting back to the Busted trying to convince them that what they are doing is wrong. The Busted view her as a traitor, seeing her as a liability now due to her regained humanity. She is expelled out of the Busted and forced to fend for herself for now on. With nowhere to go, people from Nirvana had found her and decided to take her in, believing she could be redeemed.
