    RBIs is very sticky; (2) The Pinning Point's influences goes up to the grounding line (3) The RBIS exhibits a number of basal channels which indicate: – ice thickness changes by more than 50% over a few kilometers – channel amplitudes must be linked to a vivid ice—ocean interaction – basal mass balance is highly variable across the channels (4) The ice-shelf rigidity may change on short horizontal scales with: – Marine ice – Basal channels – Surface/bottom crevassing.
