Opportunities for Educators • Motivate students to participate in Google's coding contests viz Google Code-In, Google Code Jam,Google Cloud Developers Challenge • Encourage students to learn how to program and link think them to mentors in UB. • Organize practice sessions and Hack-a-thons. • Be the Example. Educators are encouraged to participate!

8. How is it done? • Organize coding Hack-a-thons and practice sessions. • Help Students register for the Contest. • Seek the assistance of members of the Google Developer Group Community. • Encourage girls to code!

The Google Cloud Developer Challenge 2013 • +Transearch (find on Google+) is an app which converts search queries and results from one language to another. • Transearch (www.jutap.org is now an Opensource project) emerged as Finalist in the GCDC 2013, and was second to +FunnyLeni under the Fun and games Category
12. In 2013, we worked on BRL-CAD, the U.S. Army's Ballistic Research Laboratory Computer Aided Design Software Gets students involved in open source development Google Summer of Code 2013
13. What did we do differently? • Motivated our girls coders to get involved! • Organized Practice sessions and Code Labs • Reviewed students GSoC applications. • Organized a Hangout on Google+
15. This year we had 3 participants with 2 Girls(+Faith and +Daisy) and a guy (+Krys).Cameroon was ranked 2nd in Africa after Egypt.

The Google Doc Camp, Mountain View, CA It is a forum where open source communities meet to work on documentation, share experiences and promote FLOSS(Free, Libre and Open Source Software) initiative. Organizations such as OpenMRS, BRL-CAD and GNOME (Mallard) participated in creating open source documentation
