1. #IWDev Website Competition Sponsored by @GitHub
2. The Challenge • The challenge is two fold: o Design a logo and branding for #IWDev o Design the #IWDev website • You can enter each part of the competition – they are independent o Prizes will be awarded for each category winner and runner up • You can enter alone – or as part of a team: o Teams can be no greater than 3 strong
3. Part 1: Logo/Brand • Please use the following as a guideline for design: o Needs to be made up of a picture and text – “#IWDev” is the text. o Points go to character or mascot based pictures. o Font needs to be something free (not necessarily web safe). o Colours have to come with associated colour palette.
4. Part 2: Web Design • Please use the following as a design guideline: o Must be a Responsive build. o Must be blog/news/events based. o Must fit the existing platform/system (Octopress).
5. Prizes! • All prizes are available for each category. • 1st Prize: o Submission gets used for #IWDev and Website. o As an individual: 12 months free Micro Plan (worth $84). o As a team: 12 months free Bronze Plan (worth $300) or 12 months free Micro Plan for each team member. • 2nd Prize: o As an individual: 6 months free Micro Plan (worth $42). o As a team: 6 months free Bronze Plan (worth $150) or 6 months free Micro Plan for each team member. • I’ve also got some @GitHub swag coming… hopefully enough to dish out accordingly also. • YES! 6. To Enter… • You must fork the Repository: github.com/IWDev/iwdev.github.com o If you are entering as an individual, use a personal account. o If you are entering as a team, use a free organization account. • Logo/Brand submissions must have the logo added to the header of the website. • Web design submissions must be created in/from the source. • All submissions must be Pushed to @GitHub and open a Pull Request to the original before #IWDev 6 (04/12/12).
