joins the conversation. The new participant asks what’s so funny, but the others respond “TRAIN-GONE, SORRY.”
WAVING • Not true sign, but common gesture • Used
to get attention from a few feet to a few meters away
LOVE-IT • Follows a thing or idea; does not refer
to loving people • Also called KISS- FIST • Ex. ASL LOVE-IT! = “I love ASL!”
DEFLATED • Sign with sad or frustrated expression • Feeling
of insignificance, sadness, smallness
TRUE-BUSINESS • Really, actually, truly; believe me, it’s true •
If eyebrows up, is question: “Really? Are you sure?”
DOESN’T-MATTER • Whatever, I don’t care, anyway, nevermind, it doesn’t
matter
TIP: IF YOU DON’T KNOW A WORD’S SIGN, TRY THINKING
OF SYNONYMS YOU MAY KNOW THE SIGN FOR.
