Kara Sowles is currently a Sr Open Source Program Manager at GitHub, working with the open source maintainers who enable our society's digital infrastructure to function.

Perviously she was Manager of Community and Evangelism at Puppet, where she worked on community building and scaling internal programs with a people-first lens. She spent 8 years there working on user group programs, evangelism programs, content curation, and planning user events.

In her free time, she delights in gardening, tasty non-alcoholic drinks, and spending plenty of time petting dogs.
