Here is Locus Blue's Culture Book. It is our credo that summarize the recommended daily attitude and communication based on our culture.
Last Update: June 2025
Mission 2 At Locus Blue, we go to the field, listen closely, and observe with curiosity. That's how we discover real problems that others have yet to notice. We're not here for short-term projects or one-off consulting. We build scalable products that solve issues at their root. What makes this possible is our team - a diverse, global group moving forward together as one. That’s Locus Blue. Solving the Unseen, With Our Products

Vision 4 In a rapidly changing world facing various complex societal issues like an aging population, increasing natural disasters, and ongoing conflicts, the true potential of spatial data often goes unnoticed and unused. This is because the current technology and tools in this field are mainly accessible to a limited group of highly skilled professionals. With ScanX, we are dedicated to changing this situation by becoming the leading authority in all aspects of geospatial data, including elements like 3D models, point clouds, and design schematics. Our goal is to go beyond the limitations of existing solutions and offer a comprehensive suite of spatial intelligence that addresses the most critical challenges faced by our users. By utilizing state-of-the-art technologies, innovative methods, and a deep understanding of the difficulties associated with spatial data, ScanX empowers individuals, organizations, and societies as a whole to overcome obstacles, make well-informed decisions, and drive positive changes in this world. Product Vision Kanly aims to revolutionize the very act of “searching” in the construction industry. Today, field personnel spend an enormous amount of time and effort searching for necessary information buried in massive volumes of specifications and standards documents. Kanly is here to fundamentally change that reality. Kanly is an entirely new type of search engine that allows users to intuitively and comprehensively search across a vast number of specifications and standards documents. Unlike traditional PDF viewers, printed books, construction planning software, or even recently developed chatbots, Kanly delivers unmatched speed and accuracy in pinpointing the exact pages containing the standards or evidence users need. In the world Kanly envisions five years from now, searching will no longer be a source of stress or confusion. The time that construction professionals once spent looking for information will be redirected toward more meaningful and value-generating work. One Click. To the Right Information. 1クリックで、見たい情報へ。
Value 6 全員営業・全員開発 Great products don’t come from working in silos. If engineers just build and the business team just sells, we miss out on real innovation. Engineers join sales meetings to deepen their understanding of the customer, while sales shares frontline feedback to shape what gets built. By collaborating closely, we move faster, learn smarter, and grow the business—together. All Sales, All Develop (ALL SD) オンラインから現場へ You can’t truly understand your users through Zoom calls alone. Online meetings and interviews are a starting point—but real insight comes from being on-site. When you step into a user’s office or job site, you notice things you’d never catch through a screen. When in doubt, get out of the meeting room. Get into the field. Screen to Site 思考を共有に変える The bigger an organization gets, the easier it is for individual ideas and thoughts to get lost. That’s why we write things down—ideas, questions, lessons learned—so they can be shared. And when it comes to day-to-day work, we keep things open and accessible to everyone. Transparency isn't just a value, it’s how we grow together. Head to Share
Our resources are always limited, and if we try to do too many things at once, we will fail. It is important to decide "what not to do" and "what not to implement.” 何をやらないかを明確にする Decide what Not to do 1 Related Values Don’t Attempting to implement and execute multiple tasks simultaneously Do We will focus on only 2 things. We will not implement or execute anything else.
If something isn't going well, first question the system, not the people. In a small organization of around 20 people like ours, blaming individuals can quickly lead to organizational failure and collapse. 人ではなく、まず仕組みを疑う Doubt the system, Not the people 2 Related Values Don’t "It's not working because of you," "It's the engineers'/sales' fault," Do Instead of blaming individuals, think about where the issues lie within the team's system and work to resolve them
Don't limit yourself to meeting room discussions and office debates. Instead, get your hands dirty by visiting users, making calls, and diving into the field. In today's startup world, success comes from taking decisive action. Move beyond hypotheses and start doing. 泥臭く、まず行動する Get our hands dirty and Take action 3 Don’t Limiting yourself to desk research, online searches, or fitting ideas into standard frameworks. Do Take more concrete action by visiting users and conducting interviews to test our hypotheses. Related Values
What users verbally express is merely the tip of the iceberg—deeper issues lie beneath. Without identifying these underlying problems, we can't develop effective business or product strategies. That's why it's crucial to visit users in person, observe their work firsthand, and deepen our understanding of their needs. ユーザーの現場に足を運び、観察する Visit and Observe user 4 Don’t Rolling out features or implementing changes without thoroughly understanding users needs Do Visit users on-site, record videos, and observe everything—boost clarity Related Values
As our company grows, verbal communication alone becomes less effective for sharing opinions and ideas. If you have important ideas, opinions, or strategies, write them down first —whether in Notion or on a whiteboard—to ensure clear understanding across the organization. 書くことは、届けること Write it, to Share it 5 Don’t Relying solely on verbal communication of ideas, which often leads to poor understanding. Do Develop a habit of writing things down, whether in Notion or on a whiteboard. Related Values
Except for HR, fundraising, and M&A matters, share all information openly. This transparency is crucial for remote work environments, where limited information sharing can create misalignment between team members. Be proactive in documenting and sharing your thoughts—do it more often than you think is needed. 情報はオープンに共有する Share Openly 6 Don’t Communicate exclusively through DM or store documents in private locations. Do Share openly via Notion, Slack, and Google Drive. Related Values
of the Company Name 14 "Locus" means coordinates or location, while "Blue" represents the sky and ocean I love. Although Locus Blue began with point cloud data analysis, we have evolved beyond just technology. We now focus on our mission of "Solving the Unseen, With Our Products" by addressing various deep-rooted challenges that users haven't yet discovered.
from the CEO 15 Locus Blue began when founder Miyatani, while working at an Israeli startup, launched the company driven by a simple conviction: "I must start my own business." In the five years since our founding, we've immersed ourselves deeply in the civil engineering industry. What once seemed foreign—technical terminology and customer feedback—has become second nature to us. As a first-time founder, I've encountered and learned from every typical challenge in launching a business, developing products, and building an organization. Though I sometimes questioned my aptitude for entrepreneurship, the path forward now lies clear before me, like morning mist giving way to sunshine. We will continue to "Solving the Unseen, With Our Products"
