  1. Zak Sampson & Matthew Bullimore IN WHAT WAYS DOES YOUR

MEDIA PRODUCT USE, DEVELOP OR CHALLENGE FORMS AND CONVENTIONS OF REAL MEDIA PRODUCT
  2. Our task was to incorporate in the video forms and

conventions of a real media product. Doing the opening sequence of a Thriller movie gave us the chance to use many of them. Our video is a thriller, and is called Conspiracy. It is called conspiracy as the whole film is based upon an unknown detective. It is a conspiracy for all the people that watch it as everyone wonders who he is, and what he is doing. The first few clips of Conspiracy shows the detective walking past the camera (unable to see his face). It then does some flashbacks to the detective looking through his table, looking at case files, murder evidence, id cards, locations, etc. EVALUATION – QUESTION 1
  3. We based our movie on similar movies like se7en, the

Bourne series, buried. We were inspired by these films and we sort of mixed and matched ideas of all the films above and compiled them into our film – conspiracy. EVALUATION – QUESTION 1
  4. In our movie we use flashbacks a lot. This is

very important to our film as it makes even more of a conspiracy to the viewers. It flashes forwards into the future, flashing to the detective searching through all of the items on his desk, inspecting his suspect map. Right at the end, it flashes once more. And that’s when the past catches up with the present. That is when the detective quickly rummages through some of his case files, and then puts it quickly away and starts walking very fast. This makes lots of people wondering what is going on, and that is exactly what we wanted, as it’s a Conspiracy. EVALUATION – QUESTION 1
  5. Another way we scare our discomfort the watchers is when

we put really dark scenes on. Most of our flashback scenes are only just lit up by one lamp, and the video also has a darkened look to it – to make it as if it were a dream, to tell the viewers it’s not real. Since our film is about conspiracy, it’s not going to be all bright and the sun out etc, instead it’s a detectives secret location, so it’s dark and also unknown. It’s a strange looking place and you cannot really tell what it is because it’s so dark. We like it being dark in the clips as it sometimes discomforts the viewers and that makes the film a lot more exciting for some people. EVALUATION – QUESTION 1
  6. Another important thing we have is the music. We found

this music on YouTube under epic conspiracy music, and it fits the movie really well. It starts off really slow, and then starts kicking in at full pace. The music improves the film so much – it would be very plain and boring if it had no music at all. The music also tells the viewers when something is going on, when there’s a minor thing going on, then it won’t be fast paced, but when the detective is rummaging through the case files quickly – the music is fast pace and very exciting and fun to watch.
