  1. WHAT WILT THOU HAVE ME DO? REVIEW OF LAST WEEKS

LESSON ▸ Resisting the Holy Ghost can lead to rejecting the Savior and His prophets. Acts 6-7 What truths do we learn about the account of Stephen? 7:51 “You do always resist the Holy Ghost , as your father did, so do ye.” Why might we resist the Holy Ghost? What can we do to better recognize and follow the promptings of the Holy Ghost. ▸ The Holy Ghost will help us guide others to Jesus Christ. Acts 8:26-39 Phillip and the eunuch from Ethiopia. What do we learn about Phillip’s example about teaching the gospel to others? ▸ Vs. 27 (He arose and went, after the angel commanded him to) vs. 29-30 (Spirit said go near the chariot, and he ran thither) 31 (Phillip asks, and the eunuch asks for someone to guide him) How has the Lord orchestrated your mortal journey with teachers, leaders. prophets, and other men and women to assist you? Vs. 35 (Preached unto him Jesus) 36 Here is water;) 38 Baptism 39 went his way rejoicing ▸ When we submit to the Lords will, we can become instruments in His hands. Acts 9 Ananias (presiding officer of the church in Damascus, and likely the man that Saul would most likely desired captured and in-prisoned. This person he saw as a threat, would be the one would teach, heal, and baptize him). Have you ever had an experience, of teaching the unteachable? Or ministering to the un-ministerable? ▸ Stephen, Phillip, the eunuch, Ananias, and Paul, had faith and “did”. If we only do things that we have power to understand and do, we will never experience what God knows and expects us to do.
  2. THE WORD OF GOD GREW AND MULTIPLIED ACTS 10-11 ▸

Heavenly Father teaches us line upon line through revelation. ▸ How did Peter receive revelation to take the gospel to the gentiles moving forward “doubting nothing”? Cornelius (Acts 10:1-8) Peter (Acts 10:9-18) ▸ What can we learn about revelation from Peters experience? 2 Ne 28:30 Elder Bednar “Line upon line, Precept upon Precept” New Era Sept. 2010, President Oaks “Our Strengths Can Become our Downfall, Ensign 1994 ▸ What examples can you think of in which people have received spiritual guidance “here a little and there a little”?
  3. FIND A QUIET PLACE WHERE YOU CAN REGULARLY GO. PRAY

IN THE NAME IF JESUS CHRIST ABOUT THE LONGING OF YOUR HEART. AND THEN LISTEN! WRITE THE THOUGHTS THAT COME TO YOUR MIND. AS YOU REPEAT THIS PROCESS DAY AFTER DAY, MONTH AFTER MONTH, YEAR AFTER YEAR, YOU WILL GROW INTO THE PRINCIPLE OF REVELATION. Russell M. Nelson A PRACTICE IN REVELATION… “Revelation for the Church, Revelation for Our Lives” Ensign May 2018
  4. A PRACTICE IN REVELATION… ▸ Read a passage of scripture

that would be helpful in your situation (Bible Dictionary, Index, churchofjesuschrist.org) ▸ Ponder what it means ▸ Pray for inspiration ▸ Write down any impressions received ▸ Ask “Is there more?” ▸ Seek for more you can study on this topic THE ELDER SCOTT PATTERN OF SEEKING REVELATION “When I am faced with a very difficult matter, this is how I try to understand what to do. I fast. I pray to find and understand scriptures that will be helpful. That process is cyclical. I start reading a passage of scripture; I ponder what the verse means and pray for inspiration. I then ponder and pray to know if I have captured all the Lord wants me to do. Often more impressions come with increased understanding of doctrine. I have found that pattern to be a good way to learn from the scriptures.” “Strong impressions began to flow to me. I wrote them down, The message included specific counsel on how to become more effective as an instrument in the hands of the Lord. I was then impressed to ask, “Was there yet more to be given?” I received further impressions, and in the process of writing down the impressions, pondering, and praying for confirmation was repeated.” Richard G. Scott “How to Obtain Revelation and Inspiration for your Personal Life” Ensign May 2012
  5. TEXT UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN… ▸ Ponder reasons we sometimes

fail to share the gospel with others. Acts 16-21 can help us overcome obstacles that can prevent us from sharing the gospel ▸ If you had the chance to tell leaders of our nation about the gospel what would you say? In Acts 22-28 you can find out what Paul said to some of the most powerful leaders of his day.
