  1. CONTINUE YE IN MY LOVE REVIEW OF LAST WEEK’S LESSON...

    ▸ The Savior is our example of humbly serving others. John 13:1-17 (washing the feet of the apostles) What do we learn from this account how we might serve others? Why was this an important thing for the apostles to take part of? ▸ I show my love for Jesus Christ by keeping His commandment to love. “Love is the defining characteristic of a disciple of Jesus Christ” (Uchtdorf 10/2009 GC) How is loving others a sign of discipleship? “The Savior’s love is active love. It is not manifested through large and heroic deeds but rather through simple acts of kindness and service” (Ballard 4/2011 GC)
  2. CONTINUE YE IN MY LOVE LAST WEEK’S LESSON (CONT.) ▸

    The Holy Ghost enables us to fulfill our purpose as disciples of Jesus Christ. ▸ The Spirit and allergies. What are you allergic to, and how does it manifest itself? The key is finding out what causes allergies for yourself, and how they show up. ▸ How does the spirit work in your life? How do we help others find their spiritual language? ▸ Elder and Sister Bednar speak about the Holy Ghost
  3. More On The Holy Ghost From President Nelson… “Choose to

    do the SPIRITUAL WORK required to enjoy the gift of the HOLY GHOST and hear the voice of the Spirit more frequently and clearly.” April 2018 “Do the SPIRITUAL WORK to find out for yourselves and please do it now. Time is running out.” April 2019 What is Spiritual Work: “Blessed are they that hunger after righteousness for they shall be filled with the Holy Ghost” 3 Ne 12:6 “This translates into sheer spiritual labor…the scriptures are a conduit for revelation they teach us the language of the Spirit…worshipping in the temple, repenting to become increasingly pure, forgiving and seeking forgiveness, earnest fasting and prayer all increase our receptivity to the Spirit. SPIRITUAL WORK works and is key to learning to hear the voice of the Lord.” (Sheri Dew “We Are Not Alone” 10/1998 RS Meeting)
  4. NOT AS I WILL, BUT AS THOU WILT MATTHEW 26;

    MARK 14; LUKE 22; JOHN 18 ▸ Lord is it I? (Matthew 26:21-21-25, Mark 14: 18-21, Luke 22:21-23) What do we learn from the reaction of the apostles? “In these simple words, “Lord is it I?” lies the beginning of wisdom and the pathway to personal conversion and lasting change.” (Uchtdorf 10/2014 Priesthood Session) ▸ The first Sacrament (Matthew 26: 36-46) What is something new you have learned about the Sacrament this week? How can we remember the Savior and keep the commandments throughout the week (D&C 6:36-37) (Holland “Behold the Lamb of God” 4/2019 Conference) ▸ Gethsemane (Matthew 26:36-46, Mark 14:32-42, Luke 22:39-46) Hebrew: Geth-Press Shemen-Oil Place of the oil press. What symbolism of this garden point to the Atonement?
  5. NOT AS I WILL, BUT AS THOU WILT ▸ President

    Nelson’s invitation: “Invest time in learning about the Savior and His Atoning sacrifice” 1. Why is the Atonement necessary? 2. What did the Savior experience as He suffered? 3. How does Christ’s suffering affect my life? “IT IS POIGNANTLY SYMBOLIC THAT ‘BLOOD [CAME] FROM EVERY PORE’ [MOSIAH 3:7; LUKE 22:44] AS JESUS SUFFERED IN GETHSEMANE, THE PLACE OF THE OLIVE PRESS. TO PRODUCE OLIVE OIL IN THE SAVIOR’S TIME, OLIVES WERE FIRST CRUSHED BY ROLLING A LARGE STONE OVER THEM. THE RESULTING ‘MASH’ WAS PLACED IN SOFT, LOOSELY WOVEN BASKETS, WHICH WERE PILED ONE UPON ANOTHER. THEIR WEIGHT EXPRESSED THE FIRST AND FINEST OIL. THEN ADDED STRESS WAS APPLIED BY PLACING A LARGE BEAM OR LOG ON TOP OF THE STACKED BASKETS, PRODUCING MORE OIL. FINALLY, TO DRAW OUT THE VERY LAST DROPS, THE BEAM WAS WEIGHTED WITH STONES ON ONE END TO CREATE THE MAXIMUM, CRUSHING PRESSURE. AND YES, THE OIL IS BLOOD RED AS IT FIRST FLOWS OUT” (ELDER D. TODD CHRISTOFFERSON, 10/2016 GENERAL CONFERENCE). (Drawing the Power of Jesus Christ into Our Lives 4/2017) Gethsemane Sing-along
  6. UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN… ▸ What seven things did Jesus

    say while He was on the cross? (Matthew 27; Mark 15, Luke 23; and John 19) ▸ What would you say to someone who says, “I need to see to believe” (Mark 16; Luke 24; and John 20-21)
