Authoring Visual Studio Code Extensions

Can you write software in JavaScript or TypeScript? Can you read an API document? Congratulations, you are ready to begin building extensions for Visual Studio Code! In this session, we will look at the process for creating an extension for Visual Studio Code from "nuts to bolts". You will see how you can hook into "commands" and create a JavaScript callback whenever the command is executed. After we are done, we will create a Visual Studio Team Services account so that we can deploy our extension to the Visual Studio Marketplace for everyone to download! We will even look at how we can customize the way our extension is shown on the marketplace using a GitHub repository.
