ZEISS Presentation - using Full Frame Camera & Lenses

Updated April 2020

A brief overview of new digital camera sensors and the lenses that work with them. Full Frame (24mmx36mm) sensors and similar are now offered by multiple digital cinema camera manufacturers, and have been available in DSLR/mirrorless still cameras for a while. ARRI, Sony, RED, Canon and others offer cameras in this category. New cinema lenses are being offered that work with these larger sensors and many cinematographers are asking how to best utilize this technology, which is a bit different from the Super 35 systems everyone is used to.

This presentation covers the basics of the sensor sizes and how to match the correct type of lens to the camera. It also has examples of how focal lengths and distance from the talent can change the look of your frame.

Cinema lenses available from ZEISS that work with Full Frame:
Compact Primes (ZEISS CP.3)
Cinema Zooms (ZEISS CZ.2)
ZEISS Supreme Primes
ZEISS Supreme Prime Radiance
