Privilege (n.) the sociological concept that some groups of people
have advantages relative to other groups.

related to “technical privileges” • Participation optional • Step forward or back based on how much one identifies with a question, no pressure to move for any question
If there were more than 50 books in your house
growing up, take one step forward.
If you believe that you were denied employment because of
your race, gender, or ethnicity, take one step back.
If you believe that you were paid less because of
your race, gender, or ethnicity, take one step back.
If you have ever felt uncomfortable about a joke directed
at your gender, take one step back.
If your parents or guardians attended college, take one step
forward.
If you are reasonably sure that you will not be
denied access to jobs or political resources because of your gender, take one step forward.
If you are reasonably sure you would be hired based
on your ability and qualifications, take one step forward.
If your family automatically expected you to attend university, take

If you were able to go to your first choice

If you had to take out loans or work extra
jobs during university to finance tuition, take one step backward.
If your parents worked nights and weekends to support your

If one of your parents studied or worked in a

If you work in a company where there is someone
in management similar to you in terms of both gender, race, and socioeconomic background, take one step forward.
If someone has spoken to you in a condescending way
in the workplace, take one step backward.
If you are working in a language that is not
your native language, take one step back.
If you owned your own personal computer before the age
of 18, take one step forward.
If you are working in a language that is not
your native language, take one step back.
If your family did not own a computer when you
were growing up, take one step backward.
If you are the one primarily responsible for taking care
of your children, take one step backward.
If someone ever has told you that you do not
look like a person who studies X or works in Y profession, take one step backward.
