Bhole, a seasoned architect, emphasizes the significance of seizing opportunities for professional advancement. His journey began with a partner on projects, eventually leading to independent ventures. Despite initial roles centered on liaisoning, he transitioned into design-focused responsibilities. Opportunities, like his first redevelopment project in 1995 and ventures into interior design for jewelry showrooms, propelled his career forward. Notably, an offer to design a mall led him to study abroad, expanding his expertise. Subsequent projects in malls paved the way for hotel and hospitality ventures. Vivek's career exemplifies the importance of seizing opportunities for growth and diversification. As an architect, he notes the surge in high-rise projects due to increased FSI. Notably, completing One Avighna Park bolstered the reputation of the company, leading to over eighty ongoing projects. He views each project as a milestone, fostering team growth and benefiting VBA as a whole. Vivek's Architectural Journey Vivek began his business in 1993, starting in a modest 180 square feet rented apartment where his family also lived. With just one computer and two staff members, his company took shape. Over time, they expanded to larger spaces, eventually reaching an impressive 50,000 square feet. The company's growth isn't just in infrastructure but also in the people who've risen from assistants to partners, empowered to drive progress. Vivek emphasizes the importance of identifying and empowering the right individuals for success. Reflecting on his journey, Vivek recognized his leadership potential early. His interest in architecture sparked in 8th grade, aiding his decision to pursue the field. Working at an architect's office during holidays provided valuable experience, setting him ahead. Under the mentorship of Mrs. Hema Sankalya, he honed his personality and confidence, preparing him for professional independence. He credits the influence of mentors, environment, and reading materials for shaping his leadership skills. Vivek asserts that leadership is earned, not given, and hinges on influence rather than dominance. He describes a progressive journey where leadership evolves from organizational authority to mentoring, ultimately transcending professional and personal realms to inspire others broadly. Technology plays a central role, with Vivek ensuring his company stays ahead by adopting new technologies. 10. Eden Greenz, Nagpur Beyond the Rat Race: Vivek's Path to

Market Leadership As a leader, Vivek faces the challenge of delegated power being misused. Instances arise where individuals misuse authority for personal gain, causing losses. He emphasizes the importance of instilling the right values through organizational culture. Without moral boundaries, misuse of power is likely. Establishing a strong cultural framework is crucial to prevent the exploitation of delegated authority. Since childhood Vivek has been passionate about reading, finding wisdom and inspiration in books. He values how reading enhances imagination, unlike passive visual media. Traveling and meeting new people also enriched his learning. Vivek credits books and communication for nurturing his independent thinking and personal growth. Vivek's coding hobby led to utility software applications enhancing productivity. Innovating architectural designs set Vivek Bhole Architects apart. Like in-house 3D rendering, forward and backward integration improved services and turnaround times. The company expanded its expertise into sectors like hospitality and interior design. Vivek, deeply tech-savvy, champions innovation. He, along with his team, fosters a culture of ingenuity. Together, they research software potentials and pursue new aesthetic heights, showcasing their dedication to research and development. From Sparks to Success As Winston Churchill once said, "Success is not final, failure is not fatal: It is the courage to continue that counts." Vivek's partnership initially sparked project opportunities, even though his partner moved on. Motivated to continue, he secured small jobs through networking and a positive reputation. Word-of-mouth referrals fueled his successful business establishment within three years, propelling his career forward. Vivek acknowledges the allure of architectural entrepreneurship but had a transformative perspective shift through reading. Introduced to Marathi books by his brother, he later delved into English novels, notably finding inspiration in "Atlas Shrugged." Despite family dependence on his income, the novel's message spurred him to leap into entrepreneurship, undeterred by risks. Vivek emphasizes the importance of collaboration in architecture. His company has formed partnerships with stakeholders and engaged in joint ventures with firms across multiple cities, adapting the approach to project needs. This strategy broadens horizons through collaborative efforts. Highlighting the challenge of ensuring continuity in | 2024 16

real estate industry in India is anticipated to undergo significant expansion over the next decade. Projections suggest that by 2047, India's real estate sector will reach a value of $5.8 trillion, making up 15.5 percent of the total economic output, a notable increase from the current 7.3 percent. This growth hinges on a substantial upsurge in the real estate sector. Additionally, the government is considering granting industry status to the real estate sector, a move expected to further boost its growth. The initial phases of this upward trajectory have already been observed. Vivek Bhole Architects foresees an imminent increase in projects and opportunities, and its team is fully prepared for this. Its existing office can expand four times its current size, able to handle the anticipated rise in workload. Furthermore, the company is dedicating substantial resources towards adopting new technologies like parametric design and Building Information Modeling (BIM), investing both financially and temporally in these endeavors. With India's real estate sector projected to grow significantly, the company anticipates a surge in opportunities. Vivek underscores the inevitability of competition in every industry. He advises choosing the difficult path to establish and sustain a monopoly longer. Aspiring leaders must prioritize attitude and hard work, indispensable qualities for success. Highlighting the challenge of ensuring continuity in architectural firms, according to Vivek the firm may stagnate after the retirement of the Principal Architect. Inspired by successful practices abroad, Vivek Bhole Architects invested in the future by appointing young talents as Directors and preparing the second generation. Technological Disruption to Shape Tomorrow Vivek observes the decline of many once-prominent companies, attributing it largely to technological stagnation. He stresses the importance of driving growth through technological innovation to maintain a competitive edge. Failing to adapt to technological advancements can spell doom for businesses. As an architect, Vivek acknowledges the perpetual demand for shelter, a fundamental human need. However, with the advent of Artificial Intelligence (AI), industries, including architecture, face potential disruption. He emphasizes the necessity of leveraging technology to secure a sustainable future, aiming to be among those who both manufacture and effectively utilize new technologies. Architecture has a significant impact on societal dynamics. Vivek Bhole Architects is committed to improving the lives of individuals in the lower-income segment. Specializing in mass housing and urban redevelopment projects throughout the city, the company prioritizes sustainability and societal advancement to create a meaningful difference. www.enterprisewired.com | 17
  12. Everyone loves having dessert after meals, sometimes even as a

snack in the evening. But what if you can add extra sprinkles to make your favorite sweet tastier? Be it cake, doughnuts, cheesecake, pancake, and whatnot. But not just any sprinkles; avored crumbs to enhance the avor of any dessert you want. Yum Crumbs came up with a avored crumbs idea to add a avourful twist to your favorite desserts and sweet treats. With this amazing concept, you can make your simple dessert fun, creative, and yummy to devour. www.enterprisewired.com | 21
  13. Delson Jeanvilma came up with the idea for the dessert

toppings when he realized how time- consuming and tedious it can be to make crumbs, even with10+ years of baking experience. He asked other bakers if they would like a product that could save them from this tedious task. They loved the idea! Delson then created a range of crumb toppings in different flavors. He sold them in large quantities to bakeries and also to regular people like us. He wanted to find a way to make the process easier and more convenient for both professional and home bakers. By creating pre- packaged crumb toppings, he aimed to save baker's time and energy, allowing them to focus on other aspects of baking. After a lot of testing and ensuring they followed FDA regulations, Yum Crumbs officially became a brand in 2020. But it wasn't just Delson who led the way. The entire Jeanvilma family joined forces. Delson, his wife Amanda, their five talented children, and even their grandmother all worked together to make Yum Crumbs well-known in the dessert industry. They poured their passion and dedication into creating a wide range of flavored and candy dessert toppings that would please dessert enthusiasts everywhere. 15. Daymond John initially offered $100,000 for 25% ownership in the

company. However, he later reduced his ownership request to 15%. Kevin O'Leary then came forward with a lower ownership offer of 12.5%. In a surprising turn of events, Barbara Corcoran joined forces with Daymond John and proposed a deal of $100,000 for 25% ownership. Daymond agreed to partner with Barbara for the investment and ownership terms. Yum Crumbs' Shark Tank Pitch Delson approached Shark Tank in 2023 to expand his business. He went with his son, Zaydon Jeanvilma, and asked for $100,000 investment in exchange for 10% equity in his company. During their interaction with the sharks, Delson and Zaydon expressed their love for ice cream and desserts. Delson introduced Yum Crumbs as a wonderful option to replace regular sprinkles, providing a special mix of more than 26 flavors of low-sugar, non- dairy dessert toppings. He also mentioned Wawa, a well-known convenience store chain, as one of their major clients who uses Yum Crumbs on their cakes. Once their pitch was over, they provided the sharks, Barbara Corcoran, Daymond John, Lori Greiner, Kevin O’Leary, and Mark Cuban with samples of their product for tasting. When Barbara Corcoran asked about the ingredients of Yum Crumbs, Delson described it as a delightful blend of a cookie and a sprinkle. It has the delicious texture of a cookie and the enjoyable consistency of a sprinkle. During the sales discussion, Delson mentioned that Yum Crumbs' largest client is the convenience store chain Wawa. He also shared that Yum Crumbs has achieved impressive lifetime sales of $1.7 million, and they have been in business for three years now. The brand’s journey began in the middle of 2020 when he had about $300 in his pocket. They worked tirelessly, going from door to door, selling their product to numerous bakeries. Their determination and efforts paid off, as they managed to generate $220,000 in sales during their first year. The following year, in 2021, their sales increased to an impressive $575,000 | 2024 24
  16. However, Delson made a counteroffer to Barbara and Daymond, requesting

20% ownership. The Sharks agreed to the revised terms. Ultimately, the founder secured a deal of $100,000 for 20% ownership with Barbara Corcoran and Daymond John. Where is Yum Crumbs Now? Since Yum Crumbs appeared on Shark Tank and secured a deal with Barbara Corcoran and Daymond John, their business has been thriving. They have introduced new flavors and DIY dessert kits and have focused on creating new flavor profiles that appeal to a wider demographic. They focus on adding new and special flavors to their inventory and expanding their business and revenue in the coming years. Lori Greiner decided not to make an offer because she believed that Yum Crumbs was more focused on business-to-business sales, which didn't align with her investment preferences. Mark Cuban also chose not to make a deal. www.enterprisewired.com | 25
  17. FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE: Why Many Entrepreneurs Lack of This? In most

people’s minds, entrepreneurship is synonymous with innovative thinking, creative output, and taking calculated risks. Nevertheless, financial literacy is often disregarded while being an essential component of a successful business. Financial Knowledge is vital for entrepreneurs, as it allows them to make educated choices about their businesses, effectively manage their cash flow, and prepare for the future. Sadly, a large number of would-be company owners lack the expertise necessary to properly manage their finances, which may result in both financial issues and the demise of their businesses. In this essay, we will discuss the factors that contribute to the widespread lack of financial awareness among business owners, as well as the implications of this knowledge gap. Here Are 4 Reasons Why Many Entrepreneurs Lack Financial Knowledge: 1. Lack of Formal Education The absence of formal education in finance and accounting is one of the primary contributors to the widespread lack of financial awareness among business owners. Many people who go into business for themselves did not study finance or accounting in college and come from non-financial backgrounds. Since many entrepreneurs do not have a formal education, it may be challenging for them to grasp financial statements, financial ratios, and other ideas related to finance. 2. Inadequate Training and Experience Inadequate training and experience are other contributing factors to the widespread lack of financial awareness among businesses. The best way for many new business owners to learn about finance and accounting is via trial and error or through training on the job. This might result in a lack of information and comprehension about many aspects of financial knowledge. In addition, it’s possible that many people who go into business for themselves have never had the chance to work in a financial function or acquire formal training in accounting and finance. www.enterprisewired.com | 29
  18. 3. Focus on Product/Service Development The creation of new goods

or services is often where entrepreneurs put their attention, rather than the management of their companies’ finances. They might be more engaged in the development of their product or service, and they might not put as much emphasis on financial management. This might result in a lack of financial knowledge and an awareness of crucial concepts like cash flow management, financial forecasting, and budgeting, among other things. 4. Fear of Finance It’s possible that many people who start their own businesses are terrified of money. The world of finance may be scary, and many would-be business owners may be fearful of either making errors in the financial realm or failing to comprehend basic financial principles. This anxiety may lead to a lack of involvement with financial management, as well as a lack of effort to acquire and comprehend basic ideas related to finance. Consequences of Lack of Financial Knowledge 1. Poor Business Decisions A lack of awareness about finances might result in bad choices regarding a corporation. In the absence of a thorough grasp of financial principles, business owners run the risk of making choices that are not financially possible or that might have a detrimental influence on the financial health of the firm. For instance, a business owner could spend a lot of money on a marketing campaign without giving any thought to how this would affect their cash flow or their capacity to make a profit. 2. Cash Flow Problems Cash flow issues may also be caused by a lack of information about finances. It’s possible that entrepreneurs don’t understand how to efficiently manage their cash flow, which may result in a shortfall of cash that prevents them from paying their workers, suppliers, and other obligations. This might result in financial troubles, which may even lead to the demise of the firm. 3. Inability to Secure Financing It may be difficult for aspiring business owners who are not familiar with finances to get funding. If a company’s financial management is ineffective or difficult to comprehend, potential investors and financial institutions may be unwilling to invest in that company. Because of this, the company’s growth potential may be constrained, and its ability to compete in the market may suffer as a result. 4. Missed Opportunities Entrepreneurs who are not well-versed in financial matters may be at a disadvantage when it comes to expanding their businesses. It’s possible that entrepreneurs won’t be able to spot chances for expansion or won’t have the financial means to follow these prospects if they don’t have basic financial knowledge principles. 5. Legal and Regulatory Issues A lack of information about finances may also lead to problems with the law and regulations. There is a possibility that business owners might not comprehend their tax responsibilities, the requirements for financial reporting, or other legal and regulatory difficulties. This may result in fines, penalties, and legal conflicts, all of which can be detrimental to the image of the company as well as its overall financial health. | 2024 30
  19. Overcoming the Knowledge Gap 1. Education and Training By making

investments in education and training, entrepreneurs may close the knowledge gap that exists in their industries. The improvement of an entrepreneur’s financial knowledge and understanding may be assisted by a wide variety of resources, including online courses, workshops, and seminars, all of which are readily accessible. Entrepreneurs should also consider the benefits of retaining the services of a financial counselor or accountant, who can give them direction and assistance. 2. Focus on Financial Management Putting an emphasis on sound financial management is another way for entrepreneurs to close the knowledge gap. This necessitates allocating time and resources to the management of financial matters, such as the formulation and analysis of financial statements, the preparation of a budget, and the tracking of cash flow. The appointment of a financial manager or controller to monitor financial management is another option that is available to entrepreneurs. 3. Networking and Mentoring The knowledge gap may also be closed for entrepreneurs by means of networking and mentorship relationships. Entrepreneurs may acquire valuable insights into the management of their finances and learn from the experiences of other business owners and professionals if they network with those individuals. Entrepreneurs who are navigating the hurdles of financial management might benefit from the assistance and support that can be gained via mentoring relationships. 4. Outsourcing Financial Management Outsourcing financial management to a third party is an option that should be considered by business owners who do not have the necessary amount of time or resources to effectively manage their company’s finances. Employing a bookkeeper, accountant, or financial adviser to handle financial reporting, budgeting, and other financial chores is one option available here. When it comes to properly managing their companies and making educated choices about their finances, company owners often find that outsourcing their financial management is the best way to get the knowledge they need. www.enterprisewired.com | 31
  20. S tep into the realm of health equity, where everybody

can have a good life irrespective of their identity or origin. Johnson & Johnson has stood as an emblem of promise for the past few years towards this end. Up till today, they still serve as that promise working consistently to ensure no one is neglected or left out on their effort to achieve quality health care services. Their dedication towards global health equity remains unwavering irrespective of where they are located; be it even at far-off villages or the busiest towns, they bring light and mercy across the globe." Walk with us as we interrogate how Johnson & Johnson is transforming the world towards healthy and just living at the one-life level. www.enterprisewired.com | 33
  21. What is Global Health Equity? Global Health equity means the

attainment of the highest level of health for all people, where everyone has a fair and just opportunity to attain their optimal health regardless of race, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, socioeconomic status, geography, preferred language, or other factors. In other words, you can say “Global health is an area for study, research, and practice that places a priority on improving health and achieving equity in health for all people worldwide.” Global health equity is on the mission to radically change the way health care is delivered around the world. Training Auxiliary Nurses and Midwives - Bringing Healthcare to India’s Rural Villages In the villages of India, where global health equity is a pressing concern, a significant portion of the population comprises poor farm laborers or farmers with small landholdings who barely earn enough to provide for their families. As a result, many girls from these rural villages do not pursue their studies beyond secondary education due to financial constraints. They work in the fields, do household chores, and are married off at a young age. To address this, Johnson & Johnson introduced the Capacity Building of Healthcare Providers initiative, where the team works with the Indian Red Cross Society to support ANM (Auxiliary Nurse Midwives) training for underprivileged girls at Bel Air Hospital in Panchgani, Maharashtra, and Nellore, Andhra Pradesh. The program fulfills two critical needs: Ÿ enhancing healthcare facilities Ÿ enabling employment opportunities for underprivileged girls in rural areas Each year, 60 girls from each center, based on merit and economic backgrounds selected for the 2-year residential course provided free of cost. After completing the course, girls are offered job placements in village health programs under the National Rural Health Mission. CSR Projects Supported by Johnson & Johnson | 2024 34
  22. On 22 July 2021, torrential rains battered six districts of

Maharashtra Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg Kolhapur Sangli, and Jalgaon. Heavy rainfall triggered landslides in many places and flooded the rivers, resulting in flooding of vast areas affecting lakhs of people. There was a need to provide immediate relief to the impacted people. Health and hygiene kits, safe drinking water, resting kits, shelter kits, and vector protection kits were required. Having spent a few days in contaminated water, flood-affected communities were exposed to various diseases and there was an urgent need to provide them with primary health care services. With support from Johnson & Johnson, AMERICARES conducted a need assessment on the ground through primary and secondary data, ensuring alignment with principles of global health equity. This initiative facilitated the procurement, packaging, and transportation of relief kits. This activity supported 6835 families of flood-affected districts. The support provided to each family included: AMERICARES: Maharashtra Flood Relief Program Health and Hygiene kits Resting kits Clean water kits Shelter kits www.enterprisewired.com | 35
  23. Indian Academy of Pediatrics Adaption of Nurturing Care for Early

Child Development (IAP-Nurture-ECD) According to the Lancet Report 2017, around 250 million (43%) children under 5 years from low- and middle- income countries (LMIC) were not reaching their expected development potential. This is because adverse factors such as poverty and stunting significantly outweigh protective ones like educated parents and stimulatory home environments. This imbalance negatively affects young children's brain growth, physical health, and psychological development, resulting in faltering or a downward deviation of the developmental trajectory. In early 2021, Johnson & Johnson partnered with the Indian Academy of Pediatrics to support a program on ‘Nurturing care for ECD (NC-ECD)’ to improve outcomes related to holistic child health, growth, and development, with an emphasis on early childhood (0 – 3 years), thereby advancing global health equity. The objectives of the project are: Ÿ Capacity building of pediatricians to effectively sensitize and impart knowledge and skills to parents/caregivers Ÿ To popularize the concept of well-child visits at specific ages in which checklists can be administered to identify gaps in parental practice related to NC & ECD Ÿ To help parents develop/enhance their caregiver skills by providing NC This program aimed at strengthening the nutritional support provided to children in Night Care Conditions (NCCs) to help them stay healthy during pandemic times, thus contributing to global health equity. NCCs offer services such as – protected shelter, wholesome nutrition, education support, safe play options, safe sanitation options, opportunities for skill development, awareness sessions, and an overall platform for holistic personality development and growth. In collaboration with Johnson & Johnson, Prerana has been facilitating the BTE program for children from underprivileged backgrounds. Parents of these children are daily wage earners, cooks, and domestic helpers from underprivileged backgrounds. During the pandemic, to ensure help that each child receives nutritious meals and can thrive in a healthy family, Prerna provided ration and sanitary relief kits to 300 women living in the red light area for two months. 24. Strengthening Anganwadi for Healthy & Educated Communities in India Anganwadi

centers play an important role in promoting the health and education of communities across India. These centers are mainly focused on early childhood care, nutrition, and basic education, particularly in rural and underserved areas. Johnson & Johnson is in a long-term partnership with Humana People to People India, a not-for-profit organization, to strengthen the capacity of Anganwadi Centres and Government Health Centres in Ranga Reddy district of Telangana since April 2016 and in Baddi, Himachal Pradesh since April 2020, with the ultimate goal of bringing sustainable changes in maternal & child health, aligning with principles of global health equity. Strengthening Anganwadi centers is crucial for building healthy and educated communities in India. Strengthening community-based healthcare services for underprivileged mothers and children in Aurangabad district of Maharashtra Healthy, empowered women and children are the center of strong families and the core of strong communities. However, some mother do not have access to healthcare support for themselves and their children. In Aurangabad, it was found that only 50% of mothers underwent antenatal care checkups(an indicator of healthcare during pregnancy) in their first trimester, and 38% of the mothers had four antenatal care visits. To help address this gap, Johnson & Johnson has partnered with Humana People to People India, a not-for-profit organization, to help build the capacity of Government Community Health Workers (CHWs), including Auxiliary Nursing Midwives (ANM), Accredited Social Health Activist (ASHA), and Anganwadi workers in the district. The project aims to enhance maternal and child health care service delivery and reduce mortality indicators in the district. The project will cover 100,000 people in nine villages through 100 Anganwadi centers and 10 health sub-centers around three Primary Health Centers (PHC) of Jikthan, Shendurwada, and Daulatabad in Aurangabad. www.enterprisewired.com | 37
