  2. If you choose not to be online and learn how

    to manage your information on the internet, you are going to find yourself at a serious disadvantage in society. The internet isn't going away. You need to learn to read, to survive.
  3. Excuses! No time hard to argue this. But I hope

    you will see that it is important to carve out at least a little time to do this. It's stupid This means one of two things: 1. You do not understand how something works or what it is best used for 2. You do, but it just isn't something you need I don't know how this can be remedied. Fear, or lack of trust This is a big one. Let's break down that fear and see how to address it.
  4. Trust is the extent to which a system behaves as

    you expect. Security is how well a system can protect information contains. Privacy is your ability to control the terms under your personal information is acquired and used.
  5. Risk identity theft stalkers loss of job not getting hired

  6. Benefit information / research collaboration professional visibility shopping from home

    jobs networking social connection social capital civic engagement convenience everyone else is doing it ...
  7. Take Control •drown out the wrong impression •use the big

    name services •remove the bad stuff if you can •be authentic civil mindful •use a litmus test •connect
