    - Don’t be shy to ask for help!
  5. How? - finding a project - ideally something you already

use or want to - check its activity, open issues, PRs, chats - ...or start your own. ;)
  6. How? - finding something to do - look for CONTRIBUTING.md

section - look for issues tagged with “low-hanging-fruit”, “help wanted”, “good first issue”, “beginner friendly” or similar - share your own ideas with maintainers - simply ask
  7. How? - process - fork the project - make separate

branch from your fork - fix the issue - push it - click Pull Request on GitHub site - place issue number in the description, e.g. “Fixes #123” - wait for response from maintainers
  8. Maintainer’s perspective - this is our hobby - we leave

easier issues on purpose - we’d love to mentor anyone - we might have a lag in response time :(
