  2. Video Games, Platforms, and Publishers April 2017 Use Cases User

Behavior through the Structure of the Website Users can navigate the webpage from the splash page to view various types of data about video games. Every cell of the tables on the initial pages links to more detailed information about that title, publishers, or platform.
  3. Video Games, Platforms, and Publishers April 2017 Agile and PlanningPoker

Software Development Methodology Agile Software Development PlanningPoker ▪ Difficulty implementing this methodology due to the previous projects (IDB2 and IDB3). ▪ New version of the website was successfully implemented in Agile- like fashion for user stories. ▪ Allows teams to perform estimations on the difficulty of different user stories and functionalities. ▪ A few user stories had their difficulties estimated and the new Flask framework was implemented in pieces.
  4. Video Games, Platforms, and Publishers April 2017 Design Details Minimalistic

design appeal using the Bootstrap framework Splash ▪ Header created using Bootstrap’s built-in navbar class ▪ Navbar provides seamless navigation to other parts of the website. ▪ Each team member had his/her information placed in a div class to create the side-by-side flow. ▪ Used the inline-block property for the display. ▪ Every element of the table in the Pages section links to a details page with videos, images, and detailed information about the element. ▪ The body section’s layout was created using the Bootstrap grid system for speed and scalability. Pages About Details ▪ The sort icon is added using Font Awesome, a font toolkit for CSS. ▪ Each of these pages follow a similar theme: a header with a navbar, a body with a table, and a footer.
  5. Video Games, Platforms, and Publishers April 2017 Self-Critique Overview A

look back on our own performance. Successes Lessons Learned Areas for Improvement ▪ We were extremely pleased with our integration of Google Maps and Twitter feeds for the publisher pages. We think this level of integration provides value to our users. ▪ The ability to sort, show varying entries per page, and the pagination of the data tables works without issues and allows users to view the data in a customized manner. ▪ Time management is obviously very important and this was driven home many times over the course of these three projects. ▪ Our team definitely learned a lot about the various tools that were used to create the website which will be touched upon later in this presentation. ▪ The way that our navigation bar moves horizontally downwards after moving off of the splash page can create some confusion for the user. ▪ Adding some color to the pages housing the data tables and details could add some appeal for the users and make the pages have more life.
  6. Video Games, Platforms, and Publishers April 2017 Critique of Group

21 A friendly assessment of marchmadness2017.me Successes Lessons Learned Areas for Improvement ▪ Splash page beautifully displays team logos. This page seriously draws the user in and made us want to scroll down and click onto the other pages for more detail. ▪ A simplistic and clean navigation bar allows users to navigate quickly and without confusion. Group 21 did a great job of implementing a helpful navigation bar. ▪ Splash page design can set the tone for the entire website. A good design can improve click-through rate while a lackluster design can do the opposite. ▪ Making containers for photos so that they all appear to have the same resolution and same size will help the user’s eye flow seamlessly across the webpage. ▪ The NCAA Basketball title in to the left on the navbar could link to an external site rather than also linking to the splash page which is accomplished by the “Home” button immediately to the left. ▪ Pages housing the tables were very small with a lot of whitespace and a lot to be desired. There was room for added creativity here.
