Can Agile work for off the shelf software?

Most of the examples and use cases for Agile that we see everyday are for web environments where continuous deployment is possible, you are close to your customers and the feedback loop is short.

Not all software is like that. Sometimes you're writing off-the-shelf enterprise applications that are, by necessity, installed only once a year (or less!). Can agile still work? What are the challenges particular to this situation? How can you get to a more ideal situation?

This session is based on our personal experiences of making Agile work at Granta Design. We'll look at the challenges and rewards of Agile when working on an enterprise software product and contrast them with working in a more traditionally Agile SaaS setting.
