    of the use cases involve people going towards the beacons - though stickers are changing that… 2. Most of the use cases use mobile devices - Estimote only provides SDKs for iOS / Android 3. More than half of the use cases are for retailers
  4. Our solution: IoT + Beacon • Using the latest SoC

    (System-on-Chip) IoT/wearable solution from Intel Edison to address all the 3 limitations! 1. We wait for Beacons coming to us! 2. We expand SDKs to IoT and Wearables! 3. We enter all vertical industries!!
  5. Intel Edison and its Development Tools • Atom 22nm dual-core

    CPU @500MHz • 4GB flash storage + 1GB Memory • Wi-Fi + Bluetooth 4.0 + 40x GPIO • $50 • Intel XDK IoT Edition: C/C++, Node.js, Java (Android), Mobile HTML5 • Intel Arduino Breakout Kit / Mini Breakout Kit
  6. Demo Time • Reverse engineered Estimote SDK to run on

    x86 Linux • Edison uses its Bluetooth LE to “listen” and “talk” to beacons / stickers, and its Wi-Fi to communicate to Intranet/Internet • Edison reads sensors (e.g. Light, noise, pollution etc) and writes to external devices (e.g. LED, LCD) via 40x analog, digital GPIOs • 2 Beacon Stickers are registered (car + dog), my Edison will capture them as well as other unknown beacons / stickers too.
