  1. I want to podcast about Rails, but I don’t want

to do what Rails Envy does. What should I do?
  2. You may get stuck. Or you may be new. Tell

Telestream/Screenflow story. I’ve asked for help finding work, getting connected, etc. David Brady has helped me find work. Audience members have helped connect me to guests and find freelance work. People want you to succeed. Seek council from recognized experts but don’t be surprised if some wisdom comes from yourself. There are no real “celebrities” (Gregg Pollack)
  3. Stephen and podcast sponsorship placement. Every time I talk to

Dave Thomas, I’m inspired to experiement. Find an excuse (Teach Me To Code) Many of the current/past rogues have had different religious or political views. Having those discussions opened up a lot of ways of thinking and helped me figure out who I am.
  4. Stand up for yourself Learn what you believe in Be

who you are and take a stand Not everyone will agree with you, and that’s ok. You have to be true to yourself. There have been times where I’ve had to make a call and I feel that I’ve made the right one.
  5. Early on we “only had” a few hundred listeners. I

started having trouble finding time to do videos/podcasts.
  6. I got to be great friends with the Rogues. The

reason I do the show is because I get to spend time with them and get to meet great folks at conferences. (Jeremy Evans at MWRC. Jason Daniels here.)
