The Impact Of A Compact Web

In 1973 Dr Martin Cooper made the first ever call using a hand-held cellular device. This marked the beginning of a progressively different way of communication. Since then, our cell phones have become a large part of our lives. It remains the only item that we carry with us from place to place, even room to room. It’s transformed the way we shop, socialize, and consume. It’s changed the way we conduct business, and modified the way we entertain ourselves.

Today, our cellphones are merely an extension of our technology connected lives. However, Mobile is quickly becoming our single source of connectivity. But is that the future?

In this talk we’ll take a look at the past, present, and future of mobile computing. We’ll take a look at the ever-growing immersion it has on our lives, and what that means for the future of software.
