  6. Page 10 Empathy: the essence of DevOps According to Cambridge

psychopathology professor Simon Baron-Cohen, the female brain is predominantly hard-wired for empathy, wereas the male brain is predominantly hard-wired for understanding and building systems (empathising-systemising theory)
  7. Page 12 Where do we stand 2015 = 5%. A

third of respondents reported working on teams with no women at all.
  8. Page 13 Where do we stand - education According to

a study conducted in 14 countries, the probability for female students of graduating with a Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree and Doctor’s degree in science- related field are 18%, 8% and 2% respectively, while the percentages of male students are 37%, 18% and 6%.
  9. Page 14 Facts to consider Diversity makes companies richer by

McKinsey (19.01.2018) Gender diversity renders 21% higher than average profits. Ethnic diversity scales up to 33%. Companies in the bottom quartile for both gender and ethnic diversity are 29% more likely to experience below average profitability, and 7% more likely to experience below average value creation than their more diverse peers.
  10. Page 15 Other considerations Technology is better for everyone when

it is designed by everyone (tech companies — half of your market is female!). • Voice recognition • Face recognition You need women because Demand for tech workers is outstripping the pace at which schools can produce male STEM* graduates. STEM = Science, Technology, Engeneering, Maths Empathic Persuasive Meticulous Thorough Organized Resilient Context - driven Bridge builder
  11. Page 16 Where to begin o De-stigmatize emotions – they

are clearly important, so much that they have been addressed by important ecosystems like Cognitive Services. o Don’t overlook them, don’t exagerate them - Emotions, if not dealt with, may hinder objectivity o Be The Leader You Want To See - Be you. Own the leadership style that makes you you. o Although there are not much feminine role models, women please don’t try to behave like men o Offer to speak in schools and meetups, providing girls with female role models, and giving them experience with all different kinds of technology o Partner With Those Who Get it And Challenge Those Don't. Reshma Saujani Rosalind Radcliffe Nicole Forsgreen Jessica DeVita
  12. Page 17 February 11 International Day of Women and Girls

in Science For too long, discriminatory stereotypes have prevented women and girls from having equal access to education in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). As a trained engineer and former teacher, I know that these stereotypes are flat wrong. They deny women and girls the chance to realize their potential – and deprive the world of the ingenuity and innovation of half the population. On this International Day, I urge commitment to end bias, greater investments in STEM education for all women and girls as well as opportunities for their careers and longer-term professional advancement so that all can benefit from their ground-breaking future contributions
