Tombmates in: The Fridge | May 2024

Loosely adapted from a pilot episode screenplay, this sequence became my junior year short film "Tombmates in: The Fridge", which follows Thea making the disturbing discovery that her roommate Simone has mason jars of blood in her fridge (and is probably a vampire).
I imagine this scene happens in the middle of the second act of the episode, shaking up Thea's initial goal of befriending Simone.

2. 1A Thea scrolls on her phone in the dark living room of the apartment.
3. 1B TITLES appear.

5. 2A Thea continues to scroll on her phone.
6. 2B Thea’s stomach rumbles.
7. 2C Thea sets her phone down on the nearby table.
8. 2D Thea adjusts to move off of the couch.
9. 2E Thea moves off of the couch and starts to walk towards the hallway (O.S.).
10. 3A Thea enters from SCENE LEFT and continues to walk towards the hallway.

12. 3C Thea turns the corner to enter the hallway.
13. 3D Thea continues to walk.
14. 4A Continuing her walk by entering on SCENE LEFT, Thea moves through the hallway.
15. 4B Simone’s hair enters from SCENE RIGHT, implying she walks on the ceiling.
16. 4C Thea and Simone walk past each other.

20. 4G Thea begins to turn towards Simone to check what she saw,
21. 5A Thea finishes her turn, spotting Simone on the ceiling. Simone freezes.

27. 6B Thea slides to the left to stand in the kitchen doorway.

29. 7A Now further in the kitchen, Thea stands in front of the fridge (O.S.).
30. 7B Thea squats down.
31. 7C Thea lifts an arm to open the fridge door.

33. 7E Thea is shocked by what she sees.
34. 8A Thea stares at the fridge’s contents: several labeled mason jars of blood.
35. 9A Thea stands up, popping up from the bottom of the screen.
36. 9B Thea backs away from the fridge.
37. 9C Thea begins to turn towards the kitchen counter behind her.
38. 10A Thea reaches the kitchen counter, finishing her turn and resting her arms there.

42. 10E Thea gags, feeling like she wants to vomit.
43. 11A Thea is back on her couch, reflecting on what she’s seen.
