2. generation (Crossed lines) three tens—30 years—and (bottom horizontal lines) two people form a generation. Pay attention to stroke order!
3. stick *  This vertical line is a cane or stick. Contrast with horizontal 一 one.
4. a drop of... *  Rain? Blood? Poison? The substance that this element represents will vary.  Note that drop is sometimes written left-to-right and sometimes right-to-left, as above, but always starts at the top.

10. tongue 千 thousand + 口 mouth “Tongue” is another word for language. A thousand mouths speaking the same language = a tongue. A horrifying mouth with a thousand tongues.
