My presentation for the first WordPress Meetup Bandung. The theme of the meetup was "WordPress Experience" so I went with my experience with WordPress: how i "met" WordPress, tinkering with it, got a job from it, all the way until submitting themes & plugins to WordPress repository.

3. 2006 This book made me aware of existence of blog
4. 2008 • Started a WordPress.com blog • Started self-hosted WordPress blog at fikrirasyid.com, powered by WordPress 2.3

6. 2008 • Couldn’t find a theme I like • Decided to make one on my own + learning from tutorials • Realised that it’s quite simple to make a theme
9. – Me, years ago. “Oooh, begitu tooh cara buatnya”
10. 2008 • I started making WordPress themes… • …which looks really suck now, to be honest
12. 2008 • Started using my own theme on my own blog • Started sharing the theme I created as downloadable .zip file on my blog

14. 2009 - 2013 • Got an out-of-the blue email…

16. 2009 - 2013 • One project lead to another project • Started developing WordPress theme for clients • More unconventional functionality requested • I simply put it all on functions.php
19. 2013 - now • Realised that developing a plugin is quite easy • At its simplest form, plugin is a directory with a file containing formatted PHP comment for meta data purpose
