  1. About AnimeDB •  Our website is intended to give you

a guide and reference to the world of Japanese animation, or anime. Through our site, you will be able to view several various anime shows, the different studios that produce the show content, and the voice actors of the characters.

  4. Our Website Critique •  What did we do well? •

Deal with incompleteness of data from our APIs by manually scraping sources •  We wrote a solid set of unit tests that covered a large portion of our code
  5. •  What did we learn? •  Learned importance of unit

tests to ensure code base always works •  Creating a test server streamlines the development process •  Periodically backing up the database is important
  6. •  What can we do better? •  Improve UI/UX, as

none of us had much prior experience •  Work more coherently as a group so that one member is never blocking another member
  7. •  What puzzles us? •  Different web browsers render websites

differently •  How to design the website to be mobile friendly
  8. 4PlayDB Critique •  What did they do well? •  They

had a large amount of data •  Embedded visual components very well •  Site layout/front end design looks great
  9. •  What did we learn from their website? •  That

intuitive and smooth UI/UX impacts how well a function can be utilized •  Usefulness of setting limit on data from API
  10. •  What can they do better? •  Model IDs were

not contiguous sequences •  Raw and embedded HTML in the games descriptions, leading to 404 errors •  Include more attributes per model in the table
  11. •  What puzzles us about their website? •  Some of

their embedded content was not necessarily relevant to a current page •  What defines a platform, and how is it different from a console? •  What is a deck?
