  1. November 6, 2014 What is “micro-teaching”? • A short teaching

    session by each member of the group to the other members • To practise skills • To learn from:  observing others  getting feedback  giving feedback  watching yourself • To learn what colleagues teach you.
  2. November 6, 2014 How is it organised? • In hour-long

    sessions (two each week) • One person prepares and teaches a topic of their own choosing for 30 minutes  Which is videoed • The other members take the role of students • Afterwards, each participant fills in a feedback form • And we discuss the issues raised.

    forms and the video home • And looks at them privately • Feeding back their reflections and learning to the group the following week (2 minutes).
  4. November 6, 2014 What should I teach? • You are

    teaching, not just presenting • Needs to be suited to the group • Manageable within 30 minutes (max.) • Should not need very specialised resources • From your subject area, or just something which interests you.

    would for any lesson • Session plan for distribution (after the teaching).
