Clouds of Dust - Desire Paths in Web Design

"A path created in dirt by heavy foot or bicycle traffic, the result of people using the easiest, and often most direct, route." You could think of desire paths as natural user experience design for the real world, but how can we take the concept and use it with our work on the web? Using user feedback, we can help craft sites that are easy to use and a joy to navigate and don’t leave us with dust clouds from the dirt trails we refuse to acknowledge.
