  1. If i recall, in this exercise we could draw the

model in different locations on the set. This exercise was also meant to train perspective - as seen from the random placements of the cardboard boxes This exercise was a good way for me to be aware of the space that the model fits in. WK 2
  2. This exercise was similar to the previous one. We had

to draw another figure in space, so more training on anatomy and its relation in space. Here I struggled more to keep the model’s full body within the frame, but I feel that I still managed to follow perspective pretty closely. WK 3 Also I would like to note that mood will affect how I draw a lot... If i’m not feeling productive unfortunately my drawings will suffer as a result. This is something I’ve been trying to resolve too, from what I’ve noticed so far, short warm up drawings help.
  3. For homework we were required to draw figures in space

so I repeated the box exercise we had from class - it felt nicer to draw at a slower pace. I had time to accommodate for warm-ups and that made the end result better than what I had drawn in class. WK 3 Homework The boxes were referenced off a 3D model of cardboard boxes on sketch fab :] You can view 3D models from any angle there and its freeeee
  4. In this class exercise we continued with more figure drawing.

I liked the dynamism of this live drawing session - the model used multiple chairs and included the wooden stick. We drew 4 figures each for 5min and 10min respectively. WK 4 5min 10min
  5. For homework we had to make the before and after

keyframes of a pose that we draw during class. I think this was a pretty good practice for animating keyframes. I am being challenged to imagine how the keyframe should look following the movement of the model. WK 4 Homework 5min 10min
  6. If i recall correctly this class had a very short

drawing session - so most of what I drew was mainly notes from class. Here I made sure to pay attention to the structure of the face with its respective planes. Drawing grids help and overshooting my lines makes my drawing more natural/gestural. WK 5
  7. In this lesson we focused more on clothing folds and

how it draped on the body. So i made sure to communicate this through the clear lines on the pants and the shirt. Especially near the stomach area where the shirt would bunch up when you’re sitting and where the pants drape at the kneecap. WK 6
  8. We focused even more on clothing folds during this lesson,

and unfortunately i had a rough start to this class as seen on the far left. I was facing major art block since at this period I has very preoccupied with Animation Seminar work. If i recall Jesse, you said I looked like I was drawing nervously haha I was :,) WK 7 I think I had trouble focsuing on what’s in front of me at the time and I hadn’t had enough warming up to draw properly. But after a quick demo, I tried to apply the same kind of drawing style to my own work and I think I got MUCH better as seen on the right. Jesse’s demo I tried to follow
  9. I wanted to make a cute scene of a character

finding out his baking experiment failed haha so I’d have a reason to give him a pouty face and a grimace(?) face WK 8 / Mid Term Assignment Sketch I think it was through this assignment that I found out perspective was a struggle for me, it was difficult to make sure all the lines of the environment aligned in perspective.
  10. The final result is just me cleaning up the sketchy

lines and adding more detail to the character - like texture on the mittens and more clothing folds. WK 8 / Mid Term Assignment
  11. During this class, we went around the school to imagine

landscapes based off the school’s interior architecture. This was a big challenge as I had to think of what objects to put in certain areas to make the composition look good. WK 9 I wanted the objects within the drawing to be related in terms or context as well. Lvl 1 Near Stairs going up to level 2 View of the basement from metal tables near FYP product design room
  12. In this class we went out of school to the

coffee shop at Pioneer MRT :] This class was quite fun for me (despite the heat...) as I was able to challenge myself and communicate poses as quickly as I can before the customers start moving. really good gesture practice for me :) WK 10 Pt 1
  13. For those seated down and eating I was able to

capture the folds of their clothing and extra details. Closer to the end of the session I was able to capture more details and gestures quicker. WK 10 Pt 2
  14. In this class exercise, we were to draw the model

posing but different proportions (etc, woman, short, tall, etc) So I drew characters from a series called Vox Machina :) WK 11 This session felt more fun since I had a lot of creative liberty to draw whatever characters I wanted.
  15. I wanted to create dungeons & dragons themed characters -

so using the references I gathered I drew some rough silhouettes to nail down the size and posture along with some detail for their attire. Refs for Final Assignment Characters : Druid
  16. I was mostly looking up straw houses / cottage houses

to get inspiration for the house design. Refs for Final Assignment House
  17. mainly working out the composition and placement of the panels

and characters in the 1 draft st Final Assignment Drafts 1st draft 2nd draft after feedback In the 2 draft I changed the middle panel on the right to be more dynamic instead of flat and I polished the character poses nd
  18. I adjusted the sizing of the window in the bottom

panel and I re-arranged the panels in the middle so that the reader can transition to the last panel smoother. Final Assignment Drafts 3rd draft after feedback
