Gems Done By: Mona Nasr
What Is a Gem? Package manager that makes it easy
to create and share software libraries. Each gem has a name, version, and platform. RubyGems automatically download the correct version for your platform.
Major Components Code (including tests and supporting utilities) Documentation Gemspec
Create your own Gem Give a unique name for your
gem Make your directory and name it similar to the gem name.
Add your code
The gemspec defines what’s in the gem, who made it,
and the version of the gem. It’s also your interface to RubyGems.org.
Publishing your gem out to RubyGems.org Push out the gem
Your Gem now is found in RubyGems.org and can be
installed by others.
Thank You!
