These are my thoughts on how tribes can plan for data to support their AI strategy.

1. AI Starts With Data Sovereignty, Not Technology Before AI, this sequence must happen: 1. Get the data If you cannot extract it from vendors and systems, you do not truly control it. 2. Organize the data AI cannot reason over chaos. Structure and clarity come first. 3. Sanitize the data Define what is sacred, sensitive, private, and operational. Set risk appetite. 4. Publicize internally Your people must know what data exists and how to use it. 5. Utilize internally If humans are not using the data successfully, AI will not either.
