Women Techmakers Ukraine: how we support diversity @ WTM Chlef 2016
Basing on personal experience of running Women Techmakers community over 4 years and coordinating WTM initiatives in Ukraine, I would like to share how we support diversity in our country and Google Developer Group communities in Ukraine.

At top research universities, that number is 14%, according to the Anita Borg Institute. In 1985, women earned 37% of computer-science degrees. The number of women in CS peaked in the mid-1980s, and has declined ever since. – In the mid-1980s, women represented 38% of the computing and information technology workforce. – Today it stands at about 25%.

Why WTM Ukraine is so active — Ukrainian girls are smart, we have several active groups, strong support of GDGs and a lot of scheduled event.

This connection will facilitate sharing of resources and event collaboration nationally. Additionally, the chapter directory listing is helping other interested women in country learn about the events.
