  1. Use this deck is a guide to help you address

key questions in your final presentation. These questions should look familiar. You already answered them during the competition.
  2. You can use multiple slides to illustrate you answer. Consider

using a lot of visuals for the problem and for showing your prototype.
  3. Use big text size and avoid using a lot of

text on each slide. Speak to the visuals rather than have the audience read a lot of text.
  4. What is the problem you are seeking to improve? First

introduce the problem you have identified. Why is this a problem? Who has this problem? Include insightful observations about user behavior. Use photos or images to help judges visualize the problem.
  5. What is your proposed innovation? Show visuals or prototypes for

your ideas. Describe how it works. Discuss how your concept might be applied to hospitals across the Ascension family.
  6. Explain why your innovation be better than anything else that

is currently used? You should have strong grasp on existing behaviors and alternative solutions.
  7. Describe your proposed implementation plan. Show how you have identified

key assumptions and risks and how you plan to mitigate them. Show you have a strong grasp on specific resources and/or people needed to help you. Your implementation plan might only cover the next steps for a prototype or pilot test. Explain what you want to learn. Propose how you might fund this implementation plan.
  8. Build your case for savings or revenue. You may tie

the concept to improved associate health, happiness, or performance and, as a result, the potential savings for DCMC. The answer should include how you arrived at their estimate. We are not looking for extreme accuracy, only educated estimates. You don’t need to go into a lot of calculations. Your goal is to show the financial impact of your concept.
  9. What have you accomplished so far? What have you learned

from building and testing a prototype? What have you learned from surveying associates or talking with experts or patients?
  10. How will you measure success? Discuss how your implementation plan

will provide measurable evidence (quantitative or qualitative) that will help build the case for bringing your concept to DCMC.
