  10. what david read Frankenstein: Or the Modern Prometheus Mary Shelley

(Author) Eric Jackson (Author) Charles Yates (illustrator) $2.84 on Amazon.com
  11. what david read it on Kindle 4 Proprietary Formats: AZW3

and AZW eBooks purchased on Amazon.com Screen Size: 6" PPI:167 WiFi connectivity Weight: 5.98 oz Battery Life: 4 weeks Price (Amazon): $69 with special offers
  12. taking screenshots with Kindle 4 1.Click the keyboard and the

more button simultaneously 2.Hold for about 5 seconds 3.The screen will refresh and flash 4.The photos will be saved directly on the device as a GIF
  13. pros •No apps required. The graphic novel is formatted to

work with my device (AZW3). •Things are just much more enjoyable to read on a Kindle 4: extremely portable, has page flippers, uses e ink (easy on the eyes), shows percentage read, no worries about battery life, etc. •And that’s it.
  14. cons •E Ink can only display in black and white.

The graphic novel is originally in color.
  15. cons 2. DRM strikes back My use of the AZW3

file (that I purchased) is limited. I am unable to open in Calibre’s E-book Viewer.
  16. cons 3. zooming required •Text too small to read with

full page view on a 6” screen •Zooming is not an simple process •Picture and text blur •Must be repeated on every new page •Cut Frames
  17. misc. cons •Pages out of order –An issue with the

eBook itself, not with the format or device •Limited Menu Options –Can’t change font size, typeface, line spacing, words per line –Essentially like reading a PDF. Fixed Format
  18. conclusions 1.Graphic novels were not meant/created to be read on

a Kindle 4. –Color is not supported –The display is too small (zoom required) –Limited menu options 2.Be mindful of DRM when purchasing from Amazon. 3.Rule #1 of eBooks: You get what you pay for.
