10. + How Does this Story Point to and Teach Us About the Gospel?  Shows us that a sacrifice will be needed for sin.  Shows that we will not have to sacrifice, but God will provide the sacrifice for us.  Shows that the son will be willing to sacrifice himself (Jesus).  Shows that a loving father will have to do it – even though it will be painful and difficult.  Shows that not Abraham, but God’s future sacrifice of his Son, Jesus, will save us.

16. + What Was The Problem With Joseph’s Fancy Coat?  It showed favoritism  It showed that Joseph did not have to work!  It was not fair to Joseph’s brothers.

23. + Pride C. S. Lewis:  “Pride is a ruthless, sleepless, unsmiling concentration on yourself.”  “The essential vice, the utmost evil.”  “The complete anti-God state of mind.” Q: So what is the problem with pride? Q: When do we first see pride in the Bible?

You judge and belittle others.  You are worried about what others think of you.  You are defensive.  You think God owes you something.  You are desperate for attention.  You cannot see hurt or pain in others.
