  1. GENESIS 1 26 Then God said, “Let us make man

in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” 27 So God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.
  2. 28 And God blessed them. And God said to them,

“Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”
  3. GENESIS 2 4 This is the account of the heavens

and the earth when they were created, when the Lord God made the earth and the heavens. 5 Now no shrub had yet appeared on the earth and no plant had yet sprung up, for the Lord God had not sent rain on the earth and there was no one to work the ground, 6 but streams came up from the earth and watered the whole surface of the ground. 7 Then the Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.
  4. 8 Now the Lord God had planted a garden in

the east, in Eden; and there he put the man he had formed. 9 The Lord God made all kinds of trees grow out of the ground—trees that were pleasing to the eye and good for food. In the middle of the garden were the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
  5. 15 The Lord God took the man and put him

in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it. 16 And the Lord God commanded the man, “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; 17 but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die.” 18 The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.”
  6. 19 Now the Lord God had formed out of the

ground all the wild animals and all the birds in the sky. He brought them to the man to see what he would name them; and whatever the man called each living creature, that was its name. 20 So the man gave names to all the livestock, the birds in the sky and all the wild animals. But for Adam no suitable helper was found. 21 So the Lord God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man’s ribs and then closed up the place with flesh. 22 Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man.
  7. 23 The man said, “This is now bone of my

bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called ‘woman,’ for she was taken out of man.” 24 That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh. 25 Adam and his wife were both naked, and they felt no shame.
  8. “Do whatever you like.” “Go on more holidays overseas.” “Get

more money and buy more stuff.” “Be popular, get a lot of friends.” “No such thing. Life is miserable.”
  9. God made us and He knows what we need best.

4 facts about the way God made us.
  10. 1:27 So God created man in His own image, in

the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. What does it mean to be made in the image of God?
  11. Your price tag was the Son of God. For God

so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16) Jesus gave Himself for your sins so you could be with Him.
  12. It doesn’t matter if you are a superstar or an

Cambodian child living in the dump, God values us all the same.
  13. “A new command I give you: Love one another. As

I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” (John 13:34-35)
  14. LORD God = Yahweh Elohim When God created man, He

used His Personal name because He wants to relate to us in a personal way. In Genesis 2 then the LORD God formed the man of dust from the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living creature. (Genesis 2:7)
  15. then the LORD God formed the man of dust from

the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living creature. (Genesis 2:7) God made man with His own hands. God breathe into man His own Spirit.
  16. 16 And the Lord God commanded the man, “You are

free to eat from any tree in the garden; 17 but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die.” It’s only when we are close to God and following His commands that we will be well.
  17. All of us are searching for a reason of being.

Even unbelievers are trying to find a purpose for their lives because that’s the way God made us.
  18. 15 The Lord God took the man and put him

in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it. Adam was made for a purpose. Adam’s purpose was God-given.
  19. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to

do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. (Ephesians 2:10) Your true purpose is only found in Christ.
  20. For I know the plans I have for you,” declares

the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. (Jeremiah 29:11) His purpose for us is to live best life we can have.
  21. 18 The Lord God said, “It is not good for

the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.” Out of all the work of creation, there was only 1 thing that was not good. Adam was alone.
  22. 21 So the Lord God caused the man to fall

into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man’s ribs and then closed up the place with flesh. 22 Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man. God’s solution to the problem was to give Adam a wife.
  23. 24 That is why a man leaves his father and

mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh. They became a family. It is God’s design for everyone to have a place we belong.
  24. The Church is a family. We need to belong to

one for the time God will have us there.
  25. let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people

do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near. (Hebrews 10:25) There are no solo Christians.
  26. No Family Where we don’t grow Where we don’t learn

Where we are not safe Where we are not loved
  27. 4 Facts about the Way God Made Us #1 He

Made Us … In His Image #2 He Made Us … For Relationship with God #3 He Made Us … For a Purpose #4 He Made Us … For Family
  28. You are treasured. Doesn’t matter if this world calls you

worthless, God loves you and you are precious to Him.
  29. God doesn’t want you to just exist, He wants you

to live. Find your purpose in Christ.
