We are happy to present a short history of our telescope donation to the project "Stars Shine for Everyone". Special thanks to our supporters - for example the astronauts Alexander Gerst and Scott Kelly.

3. Nelson Mandela once stated 'Education is the most powerfull weapon witch you can use to change the world'. There is no doubt that, as he was extremely well-placed, he understood the full power of this statement. Indeed, several early initiatives, like those from UNESCO and ESA on animal tracking in Africa have shown that space and astronomy are very strong tools to motivate young people in Africa to pursue technical careers later and STEM education leading to this. The problem is to provide the schools with the necessary tools to stimulate this at an early age, when important decisions are made on the educational track to be followed. The initiative 'Sterren Schitteren Voor Iedereen' is therefore on paramount importance, having my full support and admiration. (signed) Walter Peeters President ISU April 27 2018
