Check out this presentation and follow this basic steps to know what to do and what to expect, when you are on the road.

  1. Step 1: Check for Defects Check the car for scratches,

    scuffs, loose parts, not working power windows and mirrors. Take pictures if you have doubts
  2. Step 2: Locking/Unlocking Get familiar with the alarm of the

    car, door locking/unlocking, opening/closing the trunk (check for a spare tire) and the bonnet, location of the fuel latch
  3. Step 3: Start the Engine • Start the car and

    let it warm up. Listen to any strange sounds from the engine
  4. Step 4: Get Comforatble Adjust the air conditioning to the

    season. Letting the interior of the car heat up or cool down will insure comfortable driving.
  5. Step 5: Adjust your Position Adjust the seat and the

    mirrors. Some cars also allow to adjust the wheel
  6. Step 6: Get Familiar with Controls Get familiar with gear

    shifts, headlamp on/off switch, low/high beam switching, windshield wipers, window controls, turn signals, interior light. Check the amount of fuel
  7. Step 9: Drive Buckle up and drive to the exit.

    Check the breaks as soon as possible
