Tackling local problems with government innovation

In a session for SXSW 2019, Hana Schank and Marina Martin will explore the following questions:

1. Where are the pockets of local government innovation, and what makes these places so special? What are they doing different?

2. What does successful innovation look like? (Hint: technology isn’t a silver bullet. 3. Sometimes you just need to move 3 lines on a form)

What do local governments do when they try to innovate and fail? Does that leave citizens worse off, or does it still push the needle forward?
