This reimagined story tells of a girl (the gingerbread man) and her toxic relationship with her boyfriend. Her friends advise her to see the signs and leave him, but she is fed lies and false love and ends up making the wrong decision. She trusts the wrong person (the fox) and realizes her now unfortunate position.
