Dialog NARRATOR (v/o) : I was born with a short
tongue, Girl: - have helth, dear... (sfx: kids giggling)

Dialog NARRATOR (v/o) : And still stumbled with words under
me when my legs no longer did. (sfx kids giggling, paper crumbling)

Dialog NARRATOR: It shaped me into filling the empty gaps
of conversation, (sfx voices overlapping)

Dialog NARRATOR: Wishing no one would notice my silence, Teacher
(v/o) : Who wants to present first?

Dialog NARRATOR: Wishing no one would notice my silence,

Dialog NARRATOR: Looking down at my hands while I speak.

Dialog (sfx: beam projector whirring)

Dialog NARRATOR: When I had my lingual frenulum removed at
twelve, (sfx hospital ambiance)

Dialog Mother: Say Jang-Nan-Ggam.

Dialog Girl: Jal-lan-gam.

Dialog Mother: (sighs)

Dialog Mother: Why can't we fix you?

Dialog NARRATOR: I realized the length of my tongue did
not matter

Dialog NARRATOR: How much significance my words carry.

Dialog NARRATOR: Ten years later I am still finding comfort
in empty spaces, (sfx voices overlapping)

Dialog NARRATOR: And I still look down at my hands
while I speak,

Dialog NARRATOR: Still wishing no one would notice my silence,
Teacher (v/o): Who wants to read their poem?

Dialog Girl: When grith -

Dialog (sfx paper shaking)

Dialog When grieth - grief weights you like your own
flesh - you think,

Dialog you think - how can a body - withstand
this? Then -

Dialog Girl: Then you hold life like a face, between
your palms, a plain face -

Dialog - and you say, yes, I will take you

Dialog I will love you, again.

Dialog (sfx: clapping)

Dialog (sfx clapping, beam projector whirring)
